NEL Sharp Coil for Gold Bug Pro

Has anyone had any experience with this coil?

Do you find its performance to be better than or equal to the stock 5" coil?

I am always suspicious about the after market coils, wondering how they could possibly be better than a coil from the manufacturer, but I am definitely open to the possibility.

There are youtube videos for NEL sharp vs stock coil with gold chain test. I have the NEL sharp but not the stock. The Sharp is close to my 5 x 10 elliptical however.

Type this in youtube search: Gold Chain - Wet Salt Water Sand - Factory 5" Coil vs NEL 5" Coil

The sharp is very good at finding thin gold chains at several inches in disc and farther if in all metal. The GBP and G2 will pick up gold much better and deeper than high conductive objects in the copper and silver range. The 5 x 10 coil is a good compromise and has good separation and coverage. The 11" coil will still pick up smaller gold items surprisingly. It will find ultra deep nickels and gold rings. Interestingly I did an elevated nail test by placing some D size nails on 2x4 cutoffs within several inches of each other and placing a silver dime between them and below the nails. The NEL Sharp and 5 x 10 coils were lost with the nails and could nt find the coin. However, the 11" coil gave a good repeatable signal over the silver dime, however, the ID was a compromise between the nails and silver causing the ID to be around 40 or so in lieu of the high 80's normally expected. I have tested the GBP with my wife's entire jewelry box and the NEL Sharp and 5 x 10 coil did the best even picking up very small solid gold earring backings and fine gold chains that did not have clasps. All metal work the best for depth. However in all metal the ID is not consistent and often drops out entirely on my GBP leaving you not having a clue what you are finding.
