Hi, I started learning this machine using the fast program with 18 khz & have found 3 pieces of gold so far, but very little silver. My friend is using an F5 Fisher & is smoking me in the silver department. I used to find more coins & gold & silver than him with my Etrac. I have been experimenting with the 12 khz, but then have to try and remember a whole new set of good numbers to dig. I still am primarily after gold, but would like to find some silver rings as well. What are you experiences like with the 4khz & the 12 khz?

I would stick with 12Khz for all-around hunting. It is the best (in my opinion) all around frequency. Seems to get me the best depth and best response to a wide range of targets. -Marc

High freq for gold and small targets and low conductors,lower freq for silver and higher conductors,I'm pretty sure that's how it works HH

12 does seem to be great for daily usage. If you get into trash, and mainly rusted bottlecaps, a switch to 4 doesn't seem to be a bad move. 18 is nice if you have a wide open space, free of newer trash, and want to clean out all items you come across, it will hit on tiny objects. Very versatile machine, I'm enjoying using it.

12 Khz for me too !!!

In the UK I have found more coins with 18kHz than any other frequency on fields that have been ploughed seeded and harvested. Having said that 12 kHz GMP still does a good job on pasture land. Jerry.
