How about some Andy-knowledge of XP progress with any latest software release--and perhaps some details about what might be changing/improving, etc.

I am looking for feedback on the 11x13 elliptical coil, advantages over the 11 inch model.

11x13 coil vs. the 11 coil

The 11x13 coil was the first optional coil for the Deus and it was a few years later when the 11" was released.

There are a few areas of note on the 11x13 to consider . . . . . first, it is nose-heavy due to the location of the mounting bracket. There are 3rd party blocks that move it forward but keep this in mind if you want to retain the balance of the 9" coil. Second, it is heavier noticeably than the 9" or even the 11" coils are. Again, if you are out for hours, you will feel the difference. Finally, the depth gained is not as much as with the 11" coil when comparing either to the 9" coil. You cover more ground but really do not see a marked increase in detection depth . . . and if you are in trashy site, target masking is more of an issue with the larger coil than the 11" coil.

What type of hunting do you primarily do . . . that will also play a factor in selecting a coil

Along the topic of top heavyness, I notice that issue even with the 11" coil that I own...poor balance. Even with the light overall weight of the Deus, the poor balance makes for a more tedious experience than even with heavier detectors that are well balanced. Comments? Helpful suggestions?
