I'm a full tone user but I have been messing around with 5 tones and such.I noticed when I came over from full tones with a low disc -2.5 it causes a problem . I know experienced users already know this so this is for the beginners who run a low disc in full tones and switch over 2,3,4, or 5 tones programs. video: https://youtu.be/XVCdQOfux5w

CD I've never quite understood the advantages of the negative disc setting unless you have mineralzation problems which I don't. Like your friend I run at about 5.5 and this am tested an iron nail and a piece of shrapnel. The nail was disc out and the shell broke the tone break easily. If i'm coin hunting I'll sometimes bump up to 10 if i get to tired of hearing the iron. Thanks.

Only advantage for low disc I can find is with full tones and how it I D S iron. Will have a video up on low disc with full tones compared to 5 tones with higher disc settings of 6 to 10 on iron.
