Not your common beach find

Found 10" deep in a volleyball court at a public beach.

A vintage 1/2' Craftsmen ratchet with 1/2" proto socket.
This is the old V design and they were made from 1969-90.
You can see the 'patent pending' on the handle. This makes me wonder if it is an earlier model.
Lake Erie has definitely put the freeze on this guy and quite a few times, chrome is a bit flakey in some spots.

Of course it is totally seized and my pops-n-law says I should soak it in kerosene...
My wife says I have stolen city property.

:super:

Hi kschae4,

I think sears/craftsman require a proof of purchase, unlike Lowes/Kobalt where you can just bring the tool into the store and they will replace on the spot, with a tool of equal value.
Im not totally sure about that though.
So, it might be worth a shot to walk in and see what happens...

I have the same ratchet in my tool box.
It's a good one.

At one time Sears would replace any craftsman tool no questions asked. But now that they have sold Craftsman to Stanley Tools I do not know if they carry any warranty at all.
