Greetings All;
I just joined this forum and am liking it already compared to other Metal detector forums. So let me ask my first question about what to buy?
I live on the NH coastline and want to start metal detecting! So far my research has managed to add to my confusion as to what to buy for my first detector. So here are my details:
Usage: On the beach near the water, no diving though. I do plan on using it inland too!
Experience Level: beginner but very tech savvy
Price: Hey for the right machine I could go as high as $1000 but would prefer under $700 to start
Pulse Induction or VLF is a big questions, I will not mind digging!
Thanks for now and I look forward to any advice.
Detectors I am considering:
Garrett AT Pro
Garrett Sea Hunter 2
Makro Razer 2
Whites MX Sport
many others that's why I need your advice!
Thanks:closedeyes:

I am in Pa and detect the NJ shore. I had a Whites for 22 years. I replaced it with an ATpro. I am glad I did. ATpro is totally waterproof to 10 meters, no metal to corrode, certain features adjusted in pro mode makes it great on dry sand, wet sand and under sea. You get land headset included but need waterproof set to go in above the controls. At $600 the ATpro is priced right. Peace

FYI, the AT Pro is waterproof to 3 meters, (10 foot), not 10 meters. (30 foot)

You may want to wait another 6 weeks or so, Minelab's new Equinox detector could be released by Christmas time, it is multi-freq and single freq selectable and also waterproof to 10 foot. AT-Pro is single 15 khz freq.
