ID this rock for me please?

I think it might be rose quartz? Not completely sure.

Normally id hazard a guess, even knowing that internet id from a pic is at best iffy, but theres just not enough there for me. I'd recommend taking it to a local college's geo dept or a gem/mineral show where they often have someone who is knowledgeable. They will also want to know roughly where you found it and anything else that might have been with it. Good Luck,

Not really rosy enough to be regarded as rose quartz, but may be quartz; however I've also seen calcite that looked just like that.




The texture of the broken surface seems most suggestive of quartzite.

It is rose quartz. Looks like the one side has a calcium on the other side
