Fun with my Anfibio this morning and

My buddy and I checked out the former site of an old town first thing this morning. It has crops planted on it right now, so will have to wait until the crops are out to hunt there. So, we decided to go to a nearby town park, which we have hunted several times before, but was never able to find much. It wasn't long before I had a really nice signal. I called my buddy over to check the signal with his Explorer. He could pick up a weak signal in one direction only. I plugged the hole and recovered a Barber Dime at about 8". I swung my coil over the hole again and got another good signal. There was another Barber Dime in the hole. About 10 feet from there, I got another strong signal, and a little deeper than the other two dimes I had just dug. I had my buddy check it with his Explorer, and he could barely get a squeak. It was another Barber Dime in beautiful condition. At that point, my buddy went back to the vehicle and got his Anfibio. He proceeded to find a Wheat Cent, V Nickel, and Indian Cent. I found one more old wheat cent. All four coins I found were deep, and I think that's why they were still there. Really liking the Anfibio.

Very good you got those old coins. I like the anfibio for coin shooting myself. It does real good. Which anfibio do you own the multi or the 14? I have the 14. Also what mode setting were you using while searching that park?

Hey bigtim1973. I sure enjoy finding those old deep coins. I use the Anfibio Multi. I was using 4 tone with gain anywhere from 70-85, mostly 70-75. I was also hunting in the 5 KHZ, as it seems to hit strong on silver. I was using the stock coil, but I'm wondering if a large concentric coil might be better, as I understand the concentric coils don't hit so hard on the bottle caps. I seem to dig more bottle caps than I'd like to. If you are detecting for deep coins, I would stay away from 3 tone, as it is not near as deep. 4 tone has taken me a while to adjust to, but it will certainly get you great depth. 2 tone and 5 tone also get very good depth.

A great hunt , congrats.
