Indian Head cent #998 on the way to 1,000

Ed (Upstate NY)

Active member
Dug Indian head cent #998 today. Just two more to go to hit the 1,000 milestone! Today's lone find was a nice 1860 fattie. First target I dug after stepping out of my truck. Parks have been very busy and all the rain has left the grass very high and difficult to detect in.

Wow. That is a lot of Indian head cents. I haven't found a whole lot of them here in MA. But , I have found my share , 6 or 7 last year , 3 so far this year. Not all cleaned up well. Don't think I have any fatty's. HH

The 1st Indian I ever found was a fatty and I haven’t found another fatty since... you know the next time you dig an Indian head there will be 3 of them in the hole instead of just one... congrats...

Congratulations on #998! That is an impressive count.

Lot of Indians my silver finds outnumber Indians 30-1 lol

Hi Ed,
That is a cool Indian. I have never found a fatty Indian around here.
I would take them all day long.
That is a great Indian mile stone total. I have never
counted all mine up. The most I have found in one year was 92.
You should put the 1,000th one in a display!
