tested the nox....got the silver

Took the nox with the etrac today....hit an eight inch silver signal with the etrac....grabbed the nox and it also hit the coin...I raised the coil 4 inches above the target and tried out the horseshoe button...yep...it hit solid.
So long story short...I dug it and got a 1919 mercury....now here is my question...when I created the pattern for nox it did not hit the target before the dig....anyone have a pattern they can share for deep dimes and up
without all the chatter running in horseshoe mode?

We need to know your exact settings before we can offer any suggestions. Also the only difference with “horseshoe mode” Is that nothing is notched out hence “ all-metal mode”

There must be something else happening there if measurements are correct. Using the stock coil, there’s no reason as to WHY the machine would be hitting what would effectively be a 12” dime ”solid”(or at all), especially if 4” of the measurement consists of air.

Nearby trash can down-average a good signal, especially if it's deep.
That's why you don't want to overdo the discrimination on any detector.

I personally don't bother with much modification of the stock disc patterns .... opting instead for adjustments to the recovery speed and iron bias .... and, of course, sensitivity.
(And I frequently like hunting with horseshoe on, so I can tell where the iron is.)

Thanks for all the answers....I had nickels and Dimes up setup for a pattern....all the rest notched out....didn't work...field 2 ....recovery 3....f2 @0...sens 23...50 tones....all metals worked however on the silver.
Wanted a pattern.....so everyone runs stock patterns ? Going to 5 tones then...it was an easy dime signal...no trash in the hole with it....anyway thanks guys !
So factory reset and play with recovery and sensitivity and iron bias...got it.
