With all this crap going on it really makes me upset that “these people “ because blacks and whites are tearing down historical landmarks a Christopher Columbus statue here in Ct was being talked about removing it’s insane
It should be mandatory jail time!
Hey does it offend me that I can’t detect these same areas Because they’re historical landmarks well that shouldn’t matter anymore but I’m a better person.
So does two wrongs make a right ? no I’m the law abiding person who in the end gets the short end of the stick while these thugs go on destroying history and towns cities dividing the country I pray someday our fellow Americans will learn from their mistakes.
At least all of us here on the forums loves history and when found preserves it.
I love this country who wouldn’t?!!
What say you?
I posted this in today’s finds sorry if it has to be moved but I just wanted to voice I believe what most of us here believe in History.

I agree with you Mark... these people are out of control and need to be dealt with.
Tearing down statues is against the law... PERIOD!! No matter what you think of them.
I’m in Virginia and it has gotten terrible here.
The very park that was the scene of all the violence in 2017 is where I have detected and made many nice finds... I would not even think of going there now with these radicals running amuck in town.

I can think of one way we can detect it.....that picture you sent me 35 times
:ROFLMAO:

Here in Mobile they removed general Semmes statue in the middle of the night. The history isn’t the problem. People who won’t take accountability in life and make good choices are the problem. This is manufactured chaos designed to split us as a community and grow a divide to allow the globalist agenda to proceed. Election year. Panic time for the left. It’s imperative they do not win for the future of America.

I just listened to this..,.like a prophesy of what is happening right now.... thanks for the heads up!!!!!

Do you think some of this stems from todays youth coming from predominantly broken homes? Marriages last until the first kid is born, those parents that stick it out longer want to be friends with the kid and not a parent. Parents proclaim “not my child” when they do wrong, the schools can no longer administer discipline, the kids are taught the to not talk to the police, and Holy God forbid they look at entering the military. When my Dad was in high school he was in the marksmanship class and took his 22 rifle to class once a week. Try that now and they evacuate the school and get expelled. I taught my kids the consequences of stupid decisions and all four took Hunters Ed. They learned to finish a job started, help others if they needed help to finish. Now its you owe me and I want it now. Sad.........

I’m raising 4 kids the way I was raised. Backwoods. Love your neighbor. End a fight and never start it.
I firmly believe that our culture has taken on an entitled attitude. Lack of discipline in the youth in the past 2 generations. The Ww2 generation, my grandparents, was the last real American generation. Built on hard labor and tough times. I agree this likely began with people being raised in broken homes. No guidance in life. If something isn’t handed to them they don’t know how to get it rightfully.
I’ve never had any kind of social media since ICQ or MSN messenger but it’s totally obvious to me that Facebook and crap like that is how this poisonous ideas spread to impressionable and weak minded people. The left wants us to be sheep with no organization. That way they can present us with a perfect solution to all things and bring the globe to a unified people. Just minus about 6.2 billion of us is all.

Your correct 100% social media was designed to do this divide people and families.
I’m afraid it’s coming to a boiling point its a hair trigger a reaction that’s what they’re looking for one person that will not take it anymore that pulls out a gun and starts shooting when someone breaks into the wrong house.
Or fears for their life and drives through a mob of rioters who are trying to get into their car !
It’s not if but when my guess soon .

My dad was a WW2 vet. He started out life with a 5th. grade education. He never asked for much. Just a chance to succeed. He and Mom raised 3 boys. We all got college degrees. He expected it. I became a Navy pilot. Middle brother founded a commercial building company that lasted 40 years. My youngest brother retired from the Army as a colonel. Went in as an enlisted man. 2 tours in Vietnam and a chest full of ribbons. We were taught love of God, family and country. A collapse of families, beginning in the '60's has slowly torn our country apart. Now, even our history is being taken from us. We are besieged by people ,well funded and organized, who will try to destroy us. Hang any label on them you want but their agenda is the same. God bless America!

Statues are not history. Statues celebrate historic figures. Columbus did not discover America. General Lee did not win the war for the South. The statue of Columbus was erected before historians learned the truth. The statues of Lee and other CSA (enemy of the USA) traitors were erected decades after the war because the South just couldn’t give up on the notion of White Supremacy. It wasn’t about heritage, it was about instilling fear and holding down the black man. There are no statues of losing German Generals in Germany. I’ve lived in the South all my life. Why have I stayed? Because it’s my home, it’s still a part of the USA, and I consider it my job never give up on speaking the truth about the South and how wrong our ancestors were. It was all about rich, white slave-owners convincing all the poor white farmers that it’s all about states’ rights. White men were the only individuals allowed to vote for secession(roughly 1/3 of the population). The history is in our museums, books, and in the ground we walk on. You can’t destroy history, but you can ignore it if you’re fool enough.

I feel like I should put my opinion of this "find" topic in perspective by listing some of my own history. The truth hurts. I'm a 59 yr old white man who has lived in the South all my life. I've been able to live in any part of town I wish my whole life. Not true for black men. We've all heard the phrase "There goes the neighborhood". My house and property appreciates in value. Not true for black men. Check the appraisals across the tracks and you'll see why they can't move into a better neighborhood. By the way, every town I've ever lived in required people of color to live, worship, shop, school, and be buried in a segregated area up until the 1950s or 60s. If they shared a cemetery, it was divided by a fence. My father was the manager of a 5 and 10 store in Hattiesburg, Miss. in 1964. He had a white woman arrested for vagrancy for bringing black school children in to eat lunch at the lunch counter. They could serve the children but could not serve the woman because white people were not allowed to associate with black people. They just returned from being refused to enter the local library. She sued for denial of her civil rights and lost because her lawyers couldn't prove there was systemic racism in Hattiesburg! This judgement came from the Mississippi courts. The Supreme Court of the US overturned the decision in 1970 stating the incredible deficiency of reasoning behind the decision in Mississippi. I'm not proud of my father, but that's history. My father's side of the family came from Alabama and settled in the area around Greenville, Texas. A billboard outside Greenville stated to all that drive in "The Blackest Land, The Whitest People" until around 1980. No lie. All my relatives used the "N" word regularly. If they interacted with any black people, the phrase was "They're Okay for a "N". When I was a child, a slingshot was called a "N" shooter. "Eeny, Meeny, Mimy, Moe. Catch a "N" by the toe". The black side of town was called "N-Town". I remember throwing hickory nuts at some black men doing yard work for a neighbor down the street and yelling "Go home "N"!" This is how systemic racism works. You pass it down from generation to generation. This was how I was raised by my unbroken home. Culture in my town was a brass statue of John H. Reagan, Postmaster General of the Confederacy in Reagan Park, where Reagan High School was. Right along Reagan Street. After all, even a postmaster in the CSA deserves to be immortalized with a statue in 1911. 46 years after the Civil War. This is the South in a nutshell. This is every town in the South. Does any of this spark memories, make any sense, or make you feel proud. Make America Great Again? What is the Great that I'm missing here. If you believe everything has changed so much that people of color have nothing to fear, then you're living in a milky white bubble. Fat, old, white men have something to fear now. Soon they will be in the minority and it scares the * out of them. Let's protect these useless statues at all cost! Those Americans out there tearing down statues are as American as apple pie. It's a revolution that was inevitable. Revolution is never clean and pretty. Move them to a museum where it can be explained historically correct. Imagine an 8 year old black child walking up to a statue of Lee, and wandering, "This man must have done something great to get a statue in a public park." After all, that's why we erect statues.
