MX5 Issue

Rob183

Active member
My recently acquired MX5 keeps turning off, not from sitting idle, any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks
Rob

Is the battery tray totally inserted and locked? Are all of the batteries fully charged?

The only issue I ever had with the MX5 was battery contacts not making good contact. Check out the contacts inside and make sure the battery box is snapping in completely. only Other thing that happened was I must have loosened the cable connector on the detector just a little screwing on and unscrewing changing coils. I noticed it while cleaning one day and tighten that up.

I got that problem on my MX7 as soon as I got it from the dealer. I sent it to Whites and they fixed it (new battery pack). They changed the face plate that I had scratched without me even asking and all that free of charge. Sad to see them go.
