Yes, it’s a ceramic marble. I consider those a poor-man’s marble since I find a lot in poorer neighborhoods. I’ve found the glazed brown like yours, glazed blue, glazed white, and unglazed clay. Nice job on the Franklin half. They seem to be harder to find than Walking Liberty halves.

Nice finds. I always enjoy finding old marbles and have found many of different kinds. Here is some information about Bennington marbles. This was copied from Marblecollecting.com.
"Bennington marbles are a type of glazed clay marble. They are not very dense. The marbles are fired clay with a salt glaze on them. Benningtons are readily identifiable by both their coloring and the little “eyes” that they have on them. These are spots where the marbles were touching each other while they were being fired, resulting in those spots being uncolored and unglazed.
The term “bennington” is actually a misnomer. There is no evidence that they were ever made in Bennington, Vermont, or that they have any lineage to the Bennington pottery that they resemble and from which they get their name. It appears that all Bennington marbles were imported from Germany. Some boxes have been found that contain them and that are labeled “Agates - Imitation / Made in Germany.”
Benningtons are usually colored brown or blue. Green or black Benningtons are rarer. Marbles that have both brown and blue on them, as well as a little green, are referred to as “fancy Benningtons”. These are rarer than the single color variety. There are also some very rare examples with pink on them."

Never knew that there was so much marble history.
If you were to date this marble what year would you guesstimate?
Funny thing I found 2 more marbles today.
Here is pic's with the marble I found Yesterday & the two today & a dime for scale.

Nice Franklin Half. I like finding the old lantern parts, they seem to show up in the old sites. Many were used on buggies and wagons before cars were around. They make a nice display when you have several of them. Some pieces have patent dates on them.

Another marble this one looks like it's been thru the mill it's green with creators on it but when you hold it to the light its green green.
two round ball shot I think?
seal of some type?
a 1906 10 centime republic D Haiti coin how it got in the park?
2 more dimes and wheats & a token 1914 Seminole co.operative mercantile co

Sweet .... Nice Franklin !
I too have found both the brown and blue glazed Bennington marbles . A couple of guys in my club were detecting a lot producing coins & buttons dating back into the 1700 & 1800's. So they decided to do some sifting & came up with a few marbles that had very fine geometric looking designs painted on them. They were a super find, since we don't have many expensive marbles found in my area.

I believe most are found digging for a target, the green marble was a surface find the Bennington was in the hole with a wheat cent.

C&R, that was very a very interesting detailing of the marble. Never knew what they were called. Down her we refer to things like that as being "wop-sided" or "whop-sided. Thanks to you.

Are you referring to Jerry Nadler AKA The Penguin
Nuthin' gets past you. Lol Yes sir, the Wobbler with the scoul on his face like he's about to whip the world. That is him in all his glory. He thinks he's some sort of a tough guy.......and was until he mis spoke and Miss Candace Owens shut him up pretty quick and the scoul look on his face ran away and was replaced with one of utter surprise and confusion. Priceless.
