Somewhere down along the road.

Along the road...If you want coins, hunt there.
About the distance of you sweep... x 3....from the road out, up to 10 to 20 feet into the field.
The coin hotspot will be found using this method of searching, then follow the coin drops out from it into the field.
Even if the homestead is far away out in the field, search the area along the road.

People can't stay away from the road...everywhere, all areas had weeds, brush, and thorny bushes.
There was a sort of driveway or sidewalk for them just like we have today leading to the main road.

No matter how old the area is, this statement holds true at any homestead I have ever hunted.
Long forgotten trails and paths lead to the long ago places and at some point, to the road.
They didn't have mowers, stone roads or asphalt...just mud and brush and they stayed out of it.
Now you got it ? Looking for a house that no longer exists in a field ?
Just 3 swipes wide will locate it for you... Somewhere down along the road.
