A new site yields a few nice finds...

I decided to try a new school site today to see if I could squeeze some silver out.... the first hour went by without much.. one clad dime
and a clad quarter, but things got much better when I went to another area to search.
I ended up with a silver quarter and a silver dime, two wheats, a nice count of clad and even a gold plated state quarter!!
May be worth another trip there..
Thanks for looking!

No need to go back. I believe anything of value was found today 🤭🤭

GO back no site completely worked out. Go from all directions, go slow. Many times you will go over a site and find nothing. You go back and find good targets that you wonder how you ever missed them before.

Everybody concerned about the where and no one mentioned the what, WHAT???? A gold plated state quarter?? Quick look thru the RddBook shows no gold plated issues but plenty of silver issues. Could it be from a proof set and one of the finishes turned color????? Neat look and cool find so don't get me wrong.....

I was not sure myself, but read where another company plated the state quarters... according to what I read, it is only a very small amount of gold and does not increase the value above face.
Sure looked good coming out of the ground though!!😂😂

Mr. Ron,
The plating is done by a 3rd party

Can we shoot the despicable person that gold plated quarters? It should be justifiable homicide. Working an old school yard that had been a city park for quite a number of years. Digging a target and i see a yellow rim showing its pretty face. With trembling fingers i carefully extract the coin. Very gently got enough dirt off the coin to see it was a danged gold plated clad quarter. From an adrenalin rush high to the pits in seconds. Unlike your finds i did not find any silver to soothe my soul. Congratulations on the better finds.

Well, I was not expecting any gold coins from this site, so it did not hurt my feelings at all!!🤣
I thought it was some kind of foreign coin as I have found others that looked gold too.
And to be honest, the way things started out, I was happy to finally get something interesting.
I was wondering if anyone else had found one.... now I know!👍
