Bought a new Minelab Vanquish 540 pro pack

When using the Minelab Vanquish 540 with the 8"coil are you losing much depth. Also with each segment down on the sensitivity how much depth do you lose

You lose about 2" in depth compared to the 12" coil. Sensitivity is tricky and really depends on soil. Between 50% - 100% you only lose about 1/2" in most soils. If your dirt is highly mineralized, you should never use more than 70% sensitivity because you'll actually lose depth with too much. Vanquish is a superior machine. Mine paid for itself in less than three-months!

I been really happy with my Vanquish. I have a Fisher F22 so going to the Vanquish 540 was a pleasant upgrade. I'm new to the hobby and actually found my first silver 1905 dime the other week. Have you ever tried the 10" coil, almost seems like it would me nice to have

I only have the 12" coil. My personal opinion is the 10" is not needed. The 12" goes deep and has reasonable separation, and the 8" is perfect for shallower, trashier parks.

I have all 3 coils and for my inland hunting the 8" stays on,,i thought i had with the 12" coil cleaned out an old house that i watched get demoed. Then i ordered the 8" and found way more than i went over the virgin ground with the 12" coil. Bought the 340 to get the 10" coil but it's like a middle child with no idenity. 12" and 8" are the perfect duo. Also i now use the 340 more than the 540,such a simple and powerful machine
