Hey guys, can i use greek series coils on a fisher f5? Bought a fisher with no coils and im looking for f5 coils

Thanks in advance

An older thread but what fits what at that time.
Things might have changed some since then.
From what I see and have read some Teknetic coils will work fine, others might work but not so well...a mismatched frequency or other issue on some.
Then there are the different connectors you might need to deal with.

Yes you can use greek series coils on a Fisher F5 and as far as I know they are 100 percent compatible and interchangeable between Delta, Gamma, Omega assuming the connector on your F5 is a screw in type. You can also use DD coils made for the Teknetics G2, G2+, Fisher Gold Bug and Fisher F19. You can't go wrong with either the 10 inch elliptical concentric or 11 DD coil to start with.

Are they good detectors? I have a cz5 and ml 705, are f5 a keeper md?

I would assume your F5 came with at least 1 coil, just wondering what came with it?

The F5 I had and the one my brother is running now really liked the 11"DD coil. I tried a 5" gold bug coil on mine and it was lucky to hit on a coin 3" in the ground.

My brother tried the 10" concentric on his F5 and I don't remember the details but it wouldn't hold a candle next to the 11"DD. He sold his 10" concentric and has never taken the 11"DD off the stick for the past couple of years.

No coils :(

Someone is selling me a 6x9 dd but im also looking at a bigger 12.5x8.5 dd nel coil

My f5 is definitely a keeper. I use the 11"DD coil with settings at
1. Gain 85
2. Threshold+3
3.Tones 3
4.Disc 65
5.Phase ground balance.
Battery life is off the charts(plus 40 hours). Very durable like the energyier bunny and most important it likes silver.

Just bought a teknetics 11 dd coil on ebay, it seem that everyone loves this set up, have you done the ++9 gain tune? Im still reading the mikes f5 bible

I had the 705 for a small while. The F5 and 705 are as dissimilar as detectors can get IMHO. We are not allowed to make metal detector comparisons here so I will not expand on that. I still have my F5...

I know day and night all 3 are very different

Cz5 and 705 each one hold their own i got a 10dd coil on the 705 for what i read the f5 is kinda in the middle

Very versatile detector

Another good coil is the 11" Triangulated Concentric coil that comes stock on the F44. That is a good coil. I use that one a lot now on my F series fishers, including my F75, although using it on the F75 is like operating with a governer turned on.

Good Luck,

Sorry, i got a sharp shooter :)

Juit, the ++9 threshold setting is like running at -2 or-3 threshold with the audio boost activated. Very robust audio but you lose the tiny signals you would normally hear with the Threshold set at 0. Remember, Threshold settings -9 to 0 are threshold settings. Settings +1 to +9 are audio boost settings. The ++9 keeps the audio boost but the threshold setting itself reverts back below 0, to around a -2 or a-3.

Good luck,

I would love to understand that hahahahahaha

Sorry, this is an old one but I had to say, is it just marketing because that f19 coil is about 40$ less than the f5 version! Makes me wonder ???

I'm late to this discussion, and like the rest of us I have my opinions based upon my use of a lot of these models mentioned. The Fisher F5 is a very impressive detector, provides more user adjustment than many realize, and is quite capable for a variety of hunting needs. Of the three models you mentioned, the F5 is the only one I would care to own.

I seldom go after bigger size coils with the thought of trying to go deeper because most sites I hunt coins are shallow to mid-depth, and I'm dealing with a lot of trash.

My two favorite coils on the F5 I had were the 5" Double-D for working in trashier locations, and the regular use coil was the Fisher 7" concentric.

Whatever you do, don't sell the
F5 short. Put in the time to use it and learn it and I think you'll find it to be a very good detector.

D0 you still have the fisher f-70? which is the best coil Nel 9.5" d.d. vs. 11"fisher coil?
