My 1st Fatty 1864

tencents

Well-known member
I've found large cents and regular Indians but the Fatties eluded me until today. Hit a site I haven't been to for a year. Also found a cuff and flat button. 20211105_212044.jpg20211105_212104.jpg20211102_163124(0).jpg20211105_173509.jpg

1st are always fun, congrats!
Return to the scene of the crime, has to be more goodies!
Look close at your cuff button, is there a letter in the shield?

Very nice IH cent. Glad you went with your gut instinct and went back!

Were you using the same detector when you detectored this time as the last time?
If not what detectors did you use if you don't mind me asking.
Nice finds
I was using a Apex both times, found an 1893 O Barber half last year then had to wait until the beans were cut this year.

Nice recoveries!!! Always good to revisit spots and Im firmly a believer now a simple angle change on the ground finds more stuff.

The Fatties don't "ring up" like the latter Indian Heads, which makes them a little harder to find. Nice recovery!
