Eliminate bottle caps,,,

I found a spot, on the beach, under a bridge, that was loaded with targets. First time with my Equinox, I only cherry picked the quarters, finding only 3.
I wanted to go back with my HF 9" but the battery was dead. So back with the Nox and I decided to try and cherry pick for any repeated solid number
and nickels, pennies and dimes. I knew the ones that bounced were going to be junk but I had gotten many repeatable same number that turned out to be bottle caps.
I especially hated the foil topped caps. My whole take for the hour+ was less than $1 I just couldnt take it any longer. I couldnt tell the the difference between coins
and most of the bottle caps. Only able to pick out the quarters. I only left one behind from the first hunt.

Will be really interesting to see how the bottle cap elimination program works. Im sure we will still be digging them.

I dont usually dig this much trash. Im actually in Florida for an extended stay. Just thought Id try and clean this spot out and hope for something good.
Unfortunately, just a trash pit !!!!

With the Deus, crown bottlecaps usually give a short, clipped signal rather than a more rounded one like a coin. And usually a flash of 98-99 as you come off the target.

First realize that there's two caps the flip top crown and the screw. The flip is easy to spot. If ur doing coins set to 8 or 12 then when you run over one move to 4kfz You can set up new program next door to test. The crown is steel and the number will remain the same or go up when set to four. If it goes down its a coin or unfortunatly the screw which is AL and rings up like a coin(hope Deus 2 may solve this problem. The easiest way to tell its a cap is still the old raise method. Raise ur coil about 6" off the ground. If you still get a signal its not a coin unless its very shallow clad. A deeper coin simply won't ring up doing this. Personally i would not dig out an area with this many caps unless I was doing jewelry or where I knew there were older coins. Then it may me worth it. Remember caps masks most coins and digging out the area will help you find them if you're in an older site. Best PT

Great, Thanks much. Now that my HF is charged up, there is another location, not quite as many bottle caps but has potential.
