Would like to rent a Minelab detector for a long weekend to explore a hundred year old living quarters on friends farm. We are in Plano,TX.

I’m not sure where to rent one. But a member on here may live close.

Look up local metal detecting stores. Call them and ask.
There are a few in NJ but that won‘t help you.

Be careful on rental stores…… usually no headphones, appropriate tools for digging, and most important no manuals.

There is a metal detecting dealer in Oklahoma that might be able to help you. I'll post the link to his page so that you can contact him.

Sometimes 'metal detector rentals' can come from places that have nothing to do with detecting and/or treasure hunting.
Perhaps as I have seen here in Portland, OR in the past; there was a rental place for industrial tools and they also rented metal detectors.
The other place I have seen rent metal detectors was an electronics repair shop that had leftover detectors people did not want to pay the repair bill for.
It is not likely you will find any rental house that rents the ABS Plastic/High Impact Plastic of modern detectors like the Minelab; not to mention the delicate circuitry and screens.
good luck
