Went Back to the 18 Musketball Hole... And Got Kicked Out

Been busy with work so didn't get to post my return visit to where I found 18 musket balls in the same hole. I had a little trouble finding where the hole was (that's how good I cut and fill my holes). I find it and find a bunch of small buck shot and another musket ball making it 19! After the buck shot there is no doubt in my mind this was from a Revolutionary soldier.

The brother of the farmer comes out and starts talking to me and I tell him what I've found. He proceeds to tell me he doesn't want anymore digging in the field. The farmer sends a huge text apologizing and saying he disagrees with his brother but since his brother lives on the farm he couldn't override his decision. I went home and grabbed a bunch of stuff I've found and gave it to both of them (musket balls, 1800 coins, 1700s buttons, and some other 1700 relics). Unfortunately in talking to the older fella he's losing his mind from what I gather. I'm sure my other farmer will buy the fields in the near future and I'll be back!

For peace of mind you might want to check the Auditor’s Office at the County Courthouse and see exactly who is listed as property owner. The owner can grant permission regardless who lives on the property. Can be dicey when family is on both sides but at least you will know.

It's listed under the family named farm but I'm not worried about it. Just sad because the older brother who is 80+ came out to talk to me last year and I wanted to give him a dandy button I just found but he didn't want it. The farmer (I've known 30+ years) wouldn't take anything I found last year nor would he take $. Oh well onto the next!

I use the phone app "onX hunt" that has GPS and list the property owners.

Just everyone remember that an app on a phone is not an defense in court if one gets arrested for trespassing or (if they dont like your digs) malicious injury to property. I would say the apps are 95% accurate but I for one dont want to chance my freedom or finances on an app that is updated how often?
