Just Sold my New Nox800

New member
Just sold my Nox800 for $750.(Lost around $60)
It was New in the box but never opened since I bought it in July 2021.
Got my 15% off with the Military discount.
Thought I would be using it but for 6 month was not used or taken out of the box.
I think I will buy the Next NOX when it comes out(Hopefully soon}
Maybe then I might start getting back into the hobby........JT

I have been reading that a New Nox might be coming out in 2022(worth the wait}
But hate keeping something I might not use.
I sold my Whites V3i and lost about $500 last year and that detector was Not used or taken out of the box
and I had it in my garage for 6 or 7 years lol.Think the White V3i was the last of the USA Detectors that have
been made in the States................JT

Best of luck! Looking forward to getting my Legend. I sold my Equinox 600, after getting a Vanquish 540 Pro-Pak. LOVE the Vanquish!
Hi Pirate, Do you think the 540 is as good as the 600. I been thinking about getting one or the other. I have very bad hearing and need a detector that is loud. Witch is best? thanks flintstone

I had a 540 and in terms of volume it was very loud with or without wireless headphones. Just sold it as I am moving to the Legend as well.

As for the Whites V3i I forgot I had it after 7 years or so.Thought it was best to sell it thinking that it might have been tads outdated.
Then with the Nox800 that I bought in July 2021,it was on the side of the room for 6 months and felt maybe its time just to get rid of it.
I have many things going on in life but will need to make time when I buy the Nokta Legend when it comes out and maybe I will get out and use it but then again lol...........JT

Sounds like you have other interests competing for your time.

Two thoughts here just from my point of view;

First, it sounds like you're interested, but just not successful in getting started. You need a good detecting friend / buddy to nudge you to get out and go exploring with whatever detector you have. Have you looked to see if there is a local detecting club?

Second, if you have so much on your plate and you've already invested in 2 detectors that you've not used and you've recognized that you wouldn't use them so you sold them to recover some of your investment, why consider buying a third? There are a world full of incredible interests out there, but i don't have time or resources to do them all. So therefore, i prioritize those interests. What REALLY drives me? What really drives you? Perhaps detecting is interesting to you, but just not AS IMPORTANT as other things you have interest in.

It's okay to read about some interests and enjoy thinking about them. I have dreams and goals. Decide what matters to you MOST. Put up some cool pictures around you to remind yourself of your dreams so they don't get lost in the chaos of everyday life. Make room for those things you really want to do. Set aside things that aren't and realize they are stopping you from pursuing things most important.

Like i said, just some thoughts from my point of view. Hope they help.

I am also on Social Security but I am getting a Pension from the City Of New York lol.
Its a funny thing that I bought Metal Detectors that I sold not using them, but always thinking about going back to Northern Calif
and look for Gold nuggets lol but put my order in for a Legend detector whenever the dealer gets them in.
Wanna talk about wasting money,I thought I wanna get back into playing the Guitar again in 2011 and after 10 years
I piled up at least 50 Brand New Gibson and American made Fender guitars (Over $100,000} and 99% of the guitars
don't get used and gets dust on all the cases lol......Now that a waste that I can afford lol

I have bought many detectors and have always took the time to really use them. Almost all have paid for themselves. I will only buy a newe detector When the one I’m using becomes really obsolete. As I’ve upgraded the new detectors have always gone deeper thus finding older coins and relics.

A top of the line detector can help, but its not necessarily the guys using the top detectors that find the "good stuff". Its the guy who has spent the time to deeply and intimately know the detector they are using, top of the line or not. Ask Monte about his Ace 250 and how he does with it. There are many people that think you can buy success by getting the best gear on the market. It can possibly be of great help, but if you dont have a clue how to use it, it doesnt mean thing. But if you really know how to use something, you can maximize your success. I know some "old timers" with 20 year old machines who can smoke most detectorists, even if they have a CTX, Deus or other high end machine. Why? Because theyve spent the time to understand their machine and get the most out of it. Most people only occasionally use their detectors and never really understand it. Then the next great hyped machine comes along and they jump ship to that, and never learn that one before jumping ship yet again. Dont worry about everyone else and what theyre using; learn the heck out of what you have and you can keep up with or surpass most hunters simply by being an expert on your own machine. Its a skill and the more you fine tune it and stay in touch with it, the better your results are.
