Fan out your search. I try to go back in time in my mind and try to figure out what the landscape may have looked like back then. Where would be some ideal spots to pitch a tent , look for iron as well try to find charcoal or evidence of a campfire . Was there any skirmishes in the area ? There may have been a lot more trees around then . Metal detecting is just that. We do some detective work . Like history detectives. Having the mindset of what the area may have been like 250 years ago can certainly help. Just my 2 cents worth. Nice finds. Good luck . HH

it does appear to be a cufflink. Great find!!

kinda hard to pin point age.. the few I’ve found that old are kinda like flat with a pattern stamped into it or flat with engraving.. that one appears to be cast however Im not sure whether or not they would have made them that way that far back..
