Question about the Nokta Legend external battery

Hello. I am expecting my new Nokta Legend pro pack this Friday, and I am already "pre-learning" it (watching videos, studying the manual that I downloaded, etc.) My question is about the external battery: Am I supposed to connect it only after the internal battery is depleted, or is it ok to start detecting with both batteries full charged and the external connected before the internal one runs out? I can't find an answer to it in the manual, and I am afraid to do anything that may damage the detector. Thanks!

Wouldn't think it would be any different than having your phone plugged into a power pack when it's fully charged?.. and that doesn't harm anything...

I'm not trying to be difficult or critical but I am not sure why you would want to swing a light weight detector with the added weight of the external battery for the full time it would take to deplete both the internal and external batteries. The battery is supposed to be a safeguard if you are out in the field and the internal battery totally discharges. A walk back to your vehicle to get the external battery shouldn't be that difficult. Just make sure your car doesn't get over heated sitting in the sun. I would try using the internal battery first to see how long it will run your Legend before hooking up the external battery at the start of a hunt.

I keep mine mounted & think it improves the balance some. Often the Jeep is a fair hike away.

I connect it when I get down to one bar on the internal battery If I'm still hunting.

I don’t have the pro pack, but ive went out 4-5 times for 2-3 hours at a time and I still haven’t charged my battery from the time i originally got the machine
