Today's beach find. Unfortunately, while all the detectors are here, the gold test kit hasn't been moved yet, neither has my scale; so I don't have test results or weight for this peice.

Wonder if he wandered into the rival gangs territory……. Lol

TVR, those are a little tricky to find. Well done.

Funny story; I found about 4 of those once in the sand at a volleyball court.
It creeped me out when I had the thought someone might have dumped their loved ones ashes in the sand....so I put them back.
(I know, it seems silly and unlikely...)

It would not surprise me if the caps were from someone's ashes. A lot of people scatter ashes at the beach and gold alloy has a higher melting temperature than the ovens are set for cremation. When my mother was cremated the place that did it said that some crematoriums sift the ashes to different levels and many don't sift fine enough to separate things like gold caps from the ashes. In my mother's case, they sifted out the pins and screws put in place when she broke her hips.

Congrats on your find there TVR ,,,, I've been working down there at the beach for about 2 1/2 years ,,,, up till last Thanksgiving ,, and am about to get started there again ,,, out of those years ,, I'm not sure If I got out to hunt twice ,, the knee pain I've been dealing with just made it to miserable to be out there ,,, but I've had one knee replaced about 4 months ago now ,, and the pain is not as bad now ,, so ,, I think I may be able to start getting back out there for a little bit . Looking forward to it ,, hoping I can have the luck you have ,,, keep on digging,,,,,

As always, hopping for your full recovery after the knee replacement. From what I've seen other friends go through it takes some work to get the flexibility back, but they are in a lot less pain ... except when they are working on returning the flexibility ... but that pain working on the flexibility is only temporary while the overall relief is long lasting.

That is about the truth of the matter ,,,, I finished up my therapy ,,, and have slacked off on keeping that bend going ,, but I've been getting back to it . The knee has been itching a lot lately ,, so I'm thinking it's starting to heal up more on the inside ,, maybe scar tissue or something like that . Thanks for the well wishes ,, and to you as well ,,

That's an unusual crown-- the tech took the time to put in tertiary anatomy, which I never see anymore. Upper left molar. My hunch is pre-1960's. Usually about 12-14k, probably some platinum and copper-- but its hard to tell from your pic. An honest buyer would probably give you $110 for it, at least.

@Troj-- some dude lost his grill or an elbow to the face knocked his bridge off.

I found two a few feet apart many years ago with a Fisher F75. Found them at a local fairgrounds. Wondered why two and speculated that maybe a caramel apple stand was there. At any rate, they are a rare find congratulations.

Dental work today isn't what it was. My brother had crumbling front teeth that the dentist held together with small gold rods through the pieces. That was in the late 1960's. They held up well. When he moved to California and got a baseline xray documenting his mouth, sometime around 2000, the dentist said he had never seen intricate work like that before and they sure were not teaching it. That work it still holding up to this day.

They're not teaching it because its so good . No repeat customers. more trips to the dentist equals more moolah for ADA.

hard to find those
