My question for everyone here is this. I live in northeast ohio, I mainly do coin
hunting. Can someone please tell me which metal detector from Deeptech
would be the one to buy. I have been watching videos on these metal detectors
1st is vistagold with the 30 khz & 25 khz, 2nd the vista warrior,and the vista x
thank you all for your time and help. Have a safe & happy Memorial Day..

I will recommend you call @Richard@BackwoodsDetectors. He is a great guy and can advise you what would be best for your needs. I really like the DeepTech machines.

You Cant Go Wrong with Vista-X It over all Great Relic, Coin Machine and handle any soils ,great dept and sniff out good target easily in heavy Iron /trash area with any loss Depth and Cost 1/2 Price other top of lines model and go headed to head or out hunt them. Richard At Backwoods carry Deeptech and normal carry Vista-X in stock

Good morning. For what it is worth I will offer my comments:

** I borrowed a Vista Gold for a couple of days and it was OK but not for some of my dense Iron relic sites.

** I bought a Vista X w/standard and small5.7 coils. For the most part I liked the performance but it had a battery box with a short and had three loose control knobs.

I traded it for another new Vista X that had no issues and worked fine. The only thing I didn't like were the dual trigger toggle switches and the location.

I ended up letting it go because I had too many detectors at the time.

** I have been considering another Deeptech even though I do not need one and checked into the newer Gold Hound at the higher operating frequency. I like the appearance and layout but not the two air destinations videos I watched. On an assortment of coins and targets it gave a reasonably louder response to shallower deaths, but the audio was very Modulated and the signal strength trailed-off very quick by mid-distance and I didn't like that.

If I got another again, it would be the Vista X with std. and small coil.

I'd also recommend the Vista X as a great all-around machine. The full discrimination ranges means you can use it to cherry-pick for silver coins if you like, but it's also a superb relic hunter. Since I obtained an X, my other detectors have mostly been gathering dust.

I would recommend getting a smaller coil with it: The "Super Six" (6.5" x 8") is a good choice, as is the 8" XS coil.

The round 5.7 coil works wonders in dense debris and places choked with heavy brush. I used it a lot more than the standard octaginal coil.

Monte. I Hunted with Vista-X over 3 plus year well built, my first Deeptech was Warrior and found $1 gold Coin "Trashy Iron" Ladin House Site I hunted with years I never had any build issue or repairs needed on any my Deeptech . The VISTA -X is Super Deep and Stable and you Hunt All Soil . In High Trashy Iron Laiden Site In My Option Best on Market and can hang other Brands Top End Model Costing twice the price. The Battery Box problem and was causes by Users" Drooping" Battery packs in vs sliding or Battery Pack Leads damage. I have over 400 Hrs Relic Hunting and find many great Finds in many Hunted Out Site and most over 12 inch mark and The Two-Tone Mode I sniffed out lot old coins mixed in iron. The Deeptech and Vista-X are the most "Under Rated" Deep Seeker on Market.

Nope, not a 'dropping' issue. Both Vista X units were new and the cause was tracked down to a film or plating on a couple of the battery holder battery contacts. Once removed and cleaned up, no issues with the power again.

Hello, Monte,
The first knobs what we used with VistaX, although they are made in Switzerland, created big problems.
In comparison with the bigger ones what we used for the old design units the lids did not snap well and often fell off, as some knobs too.
We spoke with producer, but problem continued to exist.
We had to glue them, but this made it difficult if repairs were needed. That's why stopped to use them from January 2021 about what I wrote in groups and forums.
About battery holders - similar problem. But you understand - we don't produce them :) On some of battery holders contacts are too tight and cannot "move" the batteries so to say. And yes, existed such problems with some of the first detectors dispatch. After that everyone holder before sending is checked - mean batteries are inserted and checked for good contact.
So, think, these two problems have stayed back in time for us.

RG, thank you for the reply and confirming some of my problems. Those were with a couple of early Vista X units. Due to some hospital time from a diabetic coma and a stroke a month ago it is taking me some recoup time but when my mobility is back, so will be another Vista X with that really nice small coil.👍 A recent production unit.
