Had some time to run up to the University for awhile. School is out but FFA state convention in town and the U hosts the event.
Back into EMI hell and 4khz is only thing quiet in there. I was just on the edge when I hit mixed signals in a cluster, has to be a coin spill but again this area hit pretty hard as its just off a parking area. Dug two quarters, two dimes, two nickels, and a Memorial out of three separate adjoining holes at 3-4” deep!
Kept on swinging along for some distance and pretty quiet, an occasional pull tab and zincoln…. Then I got a deep two way signal that should be a penny. Dug up a 1917S wheat at almost 7-8”!!!
Spent the rest of the time just doing a wandering pattern and started heading back towards the car when I hit a deep repeatable signal indicating a possible quarter. At 8” I brought up a military button (eagle facing its right, lettering on the back readable and button in very good shape) and it appears to be black in color. Was hoping for a silver quarter but I’ll take an older military button anytime. Also dug a ‘25 wheat but it was in the edge of the plug and I hit it…..
Legend in Park mode in F discrimination. On 4khz and 30 Sens (dead center in the EMI zone).

In case you don't already know your "Great Seal" button dates 1910-1923 if it does have a black finish. Clean it a little so I can see the rim style. What is the backmark?

I wish my soil was this kind to copper.
Don’t feel too bad I have “kissed” some very nice coins myself. It appears the 4khz is the ticket to areas plagued with EMI. I look forward to see what else you pull out of the EMI zone!

What uniform or which service would this be from? At first I was thinking Navy P-Coat. One reference I located indicates if eagle looking to its left its 1851-1941 and to the right 1941 to present.

Glad your Legend is effective in those tough conditions. My wife loves hers also. Sounds like that chicken is headed for the fryer!
