Out With The AT Pro Coin Shooting. Ordered A New Coil For the APEX

Headed out this afternoon for a few hours to the river and park. Got some $$$ to go towards my annual gold coin. The Reaper coil is supposed to be real hot on Canadian coins according to a buddy who repairs metal detectors. So, I ordered one and it will be my go to land machine this summer. Looking forward to using it, as I am now semi-retired. 30+ years in healthcare is enough.

Here is last weeks gold. The river just rose 6 feet today due to rain and snow pack melt in the mountains. Going to remain high, so I will be doing a lot of metal detecting.

John, congratulations on your semi-retirement. I put the 8.5x11 (same size as stock AT Pro) coil on my Apex and it is nearly the perfect coil. Garrett sure does have their coil technology down pat. No reason for any after-market coils.

John, good to hear you'll be getting more hunt-time!

RLOH, I've never been a big fan of aftermarket coils, and Garrett has almost all the coils I want. On my Apex the Ripper is a perfect sizr for day-to-day hunts, and the 8.5X11 Raider is all I need for plowed fields and open areas.

However, they really need to get us a small Apex coil, such as the 4.5" Concentric or something in the 5" to 6" size.

So I dont really get to look for gold here per se…… once the detector sounds off how does one collect such fine particles.
Now before everyone starts rolling on the floor laughing just remember I DONT KNOW THIS STUFF! 😂

Just be careful what metal detector dealer you order from.
There is one out there that royally screwed me and many agree
