Come on Xp , This Is Not On!!!!

I will be keeping my Deus 2 thank you. If you know the Deus 2 then you know there is a little Tom trickery going on in the video above.🤣
There certainly is not in my video. I turned it on and ran the test. But to clarify, I loved my Deus 1 and have hundreds of hours in the field with it. I am getting to know my Deus 2 and love many things about it, but have seen a few head scratchers too. So,when I saw this video, I thought it was BS and ran the test myself to prove it wrong. But mine had the same behavior. So the questions I’m putting out there are: Do I have a faulty unit, a bad install, or do all Deus running .71 show this behavior? THAT is what I’m trying to find out. If it’s normal, I’ll take it into consideration and program around it. So I’d ask everyone to try it for themselves. Elevate a nail at least an inch above the coin and sweep.

I just tried this with my 11-in coil and the version is 71 and I can pick up the dime and it's about 1 inch below the nail .. I tried several modes and deep HC is what I was using last and it did help to run my discrimination down to seven or lower I normally run it at 5.5 to 6 but for this test I raised it back up to 10 to start with and then just kept lowering the discrimination until I picked it up and it picked it up around 8 something but not clear it didn't pick it up clearly until around 7.2 . That is also using full tones only

Actually I tried both of my D2 detectors one with a 9-in coil one with 11 in coil .. I picked up the dime in every mode and in every tone option now I will say it's easier to hear if you use pitch because it jumps right out at you. But I always use pitch tones in iron infested sites because it stopped you in your tracks when you ran over a good Target. Now if you're detecting in a park full tones is still going to be 100% fine or in a school yard or a soccer field or something, but if you're hunting in an old house foundation or around an old 1800s house or property you may just want to date everything so you may want to put it in pitch tone and you're pretty much not going to miss anything I tried everything to hide the dime around a few nails and in pittstown you can clearly pick it out easily no matter what kind of configuration I put it in so I'm happy with the results I'm still going to use full tones most everywhere I go and then I will see how much iron is at the site if there's iron there or too much iron should I say then I will switch over to pitch and start dating. As far as full tones I could clearly hear the dime in two-tone three-tone four tone 5 tone and full tones the only difference is is the frequency of the tone itself the higher the frequency I adjusted it the easier it was to hear so in other words I could pretty much make every tone option sound as good as pitch tone if I want it to. But it's just more simple to use pitch tone

Did you elevate the nail? That seems to be the difference with the stock programs.

Yes rusty square nail was 1.25" higher than the dime. Both of my detectors picked up the dime in every mode I used as long as disc was lower than 8. Some hunting modes did not matter with disc but some did. Due to the sound of the tones it was harder to hear in full tones but of you set iron volume to 0 or 1 you can clearly hear it. If I removed the dime it was silent for the most part. So it's working as it should for me. My other posts were voice to text because I was doing several things at once. Lots of gibberish lol. Now I can't remember what the disc was set to on the other guys detectors so I don't know what was causing the issues with theirs but it seems mine are both fine.

It's the unmodified stock programs like General, Fast, and DeepHC, Sensitive, that show this behavior. Changing the disc corrects it. If your detector is passing this then I'm wondering if XP has a quality control issue.

Saw our old friend CD has a video declaring that these reports are a smear campaign. Nothing could be further from the truth for me. I’m invested in the D2 and want it to be right. Maybe it’s an issue with some, but not all, units. Or maybe it can be fixed with an update. If not, I may do the same as you, butcher.
Same here. That man in that long white garment knows some things. Just sayin'.

Okay I went out and double checked stock programs and in general mode it does not pick it up unless you change the discrimination slightly, and in sensitive mode sensitive full tones and fast... The sensitive mode with pitch tones picks it up easily, the fast mode and sensitive ft I needed to change the silencer from 3 to 2. In park mode I had to make one adjustment also and I can't remember what the adjustment was but it was just one and then it would pick it up in deep HC mode once I change the silencer on it I believe it picked it up. To me everything is working normal stock programs are supposed to be general applications for a certain site you go in there and then you make your final adjustments once you find out how the soil is how contaminated it is with iron or aluminum etc and then you make your final adjustments they are not made for finding every single Target. A lot of times most manufacturers make them very weak and you can just go in there and find a few coins and that's about it at least with the XP for the D2 they are pretty powerful stock programs and you can go in and pretty much find 99% of everything and then you might encounter this one situation right here where not all stock programs will pick it up. But to me that is normal make a couple of adjustments in a way you go it doesn't matter what I used from two tone all the way to full tone everything picked up the dime.

Thanks basstrackerman. I tend to agree with you there. I do a lot of testing/adjusting with my programs until I’m happy with them.

What is your source on this?
Gary Blackwell the tester of xp was field testing .72 this weekend. its going to land end of this month. Plus this post of contact from xp
