USB device not recognized.

On two different computers now, I‘be gotten the message “USB Device not Recognized” when I plug my RC and WS6 into USB. Nothing else I plug in gives that message. I’ve googled until my eyes hurt to no avail. I’ve installed and uninstalled and reinstalled the update software. I’ve followed the directions step by step. Is anyone else having this problem? Has anyone remedied it? If so, how?

I finally did do the update by sigNing up for a free trial of parallels on my Mac. It ran Windows and I updated my Deus fine. I then uninstalled parallels and Windows. Don’t know how many times they will let me do that.

I either want XP to offer their software update for Mac or I want to fix this USB problem. Any pointers?

Interested in when you run Parallels on a Mac, does it give you windows or do you have to purchase that. I too would love XP to get on with Mac.

On those computers where you got the USB not recognized - were you the Admin?

As soon as it was installed, it downloaded Windows and launched the browser. Couldn't have been simpler. Didn't have to buy anything.

You would think with all their technological genius, they could accommodate the computers of the world's largest company.

Yep

It's probably not so much XP as it is Apple. They are very unsupportive of any third-party software to run on their OS. To be fair, Apple's not even in the top 3 computer companies globally and has only about a 15% share of the global computer user market. But I can understand the frustration of Apple users wanting to update their machines.

I agree I was surprised to see only 15% of PCs are Apple. Shows how robust their other offerings are. It‘s just rare, in my experience, for updatable devices not to have a Mac option.
