Simplex button question

Jeff (or)

Active member
Years ago when the first Simplex detector were on the market, I bought one, used it and loved just about everything about it.
The one thing that bothered me was the amount of pressure it took to use the buttons, they seemed to be extra firm, and needed extra pressure to use them. it was bad enough that I finally
sold the detector. I still miss it. My question is , did they ever look into changing them, or are the still the originals.

Never owned the early model, but the new one (bought late last year) seems to be just fine IMO. Buttons are certainly stiff when compared side by side with the Legend, but nothing dramatic.
If you're pushing these buttons with your thumb, you'll be perfectly fine. If you're using your pinkie though… why?!

Purchased mine 2 years ago and never considered the buttons stiff either.
