Considering a Legend and wanting some feed back from those that have used them

Not an old timer really but can relate.
To this day more of a beep and dig everything person.
Never did like the vid. Just something else distracting to me and I always second guess it.
Especially jewelry can come up just about anywhere on the numbers so whatever number you dig anyway.
So then its like whats the point. Maybe good for coin hunting which not my thing being its all clad here
I am an old timer, but I hunt by ear. If my screen ever breaks, I probably won't even notice for a long while
Always either in full tones (60 in case of the Legend) or pitch, depending on what I'm doing. Pretty much always in all metal (the only exceptions so far were cases where I was looking for someone's freshly lost wedding band, they had its pair available, so I was able to notch out everything except the desired target's VDI, plus/minus 2… had 3 cases like that, in all 3 the ring was found in less than 20 minutes).
Legend discrimination in a modern trashy park leaves plenty to be desired when compared to the etrac or CTX
People get all pissy when someone compares Legend to Deus 2… and you've just compared it to CTX.
Don't fall asleep.

I have 100's gold rings and silver coins with the MXT, I would like to try the new one with tones. I got a new MXT when they came out about 82 i think, and keep going back to it. I would like to try the MXT Pro with tones.

I haven't used a D2 and probably never will , the D1 sounded like R2D2 and the D2 is probably much the same. NM tried to copy the Minelab etrac/CTX tones in the Legend and came close but lack the subtleties although they came closer than Minelab did with the NOX.

LOL.
My old favorites were the sovereign gt and excalliber both no screen then Tesoro no screen as well so the screen to me is just to look at the settings basically.
Mot much for notching out stuff either but would like to eliminate iron mist if the time if Im jewelry hunting.
Its been 100+ degrees for ever 60 days straight here so haven’t been out real hunting with it. Figure start playing around to learn it while we are in this extended heat wave then really get out there when starts to cool off and feel refreshing in the 90’s
So have you used G mode instead of A mode?
Wondering if that will eliminate most iron and still be able to see all jewelry as opposed to using F or C mode which seem identical to me and possibly miss stuff

No, I like hearing that growl in the background (I usually keep ferrous volume low, although slightly higher than default). Just like with threshold, if it suddenly changes or disappears, you may want to investigate why.
It's been 100+ for a while here too, but I just carry ice tea in Yeti bottle (on 2-3 hour hunts) or insulated hydration bladder (on all-day hunts) and drink often. And cover my car seats with a friggin' tarp! 😅

PS: F and C are identical by default, but C (which stands for Custom) is editable. You can notch/unnotch any value. The only hardcoded disc is Beach mode, where everything up to 10 (iirc) is notched out and cannot be enabled back.

You can't go wrong with the legend. Well built and Notka tries constantly to respond to users feedback. I have to say for the price it cannot be beat. Deepest coin to date was a dime at 17 inches on the beach.

Yep, there customer service is great.
Although there us one shady dealer out there so just be careful who you buy from

I like the Legend, but i have used the MXT so much, i just can't do with out it. I just won't take the time to use the Legend in the trash that i hunt in. It is sane with the F75 , you know when you use one detector so long you just know what it is telling you. I have found dimes with the Legend deeper than any other detector i have used. I can't get use to the 0-60 VDI's i like o-99.
Yes
Live my MXT.
When all else fails. Like a new trashy site.
Out comes the oll Trusty MXT. Gets it done.
Sorry
Hopefully I'll never part with it and the 5" coil.

Legend discrimination in a modern trashy park leaves plenty to be desired when compared to the etrac or CTX or probably the V3 family from Whites as well. Not only is the VDI scale a bit out of whack , the tones are not there although they are better than the NOX. Always comes back to why can't Minelab come out with a speedier CTX that's light weight without the ridiculous GPS that jacks the price up needlessly.

I had a v3i for almost a decade. Yes, it's much more versatile and has better VDI and tones. But it's also less stable (esp. in salt water). I sold my V3i when I got the Legend, not because the legend is a "better" detector, but because it was more than good enough for my hunting and gave me the capability to go in water while weighing less. If they fix the VDI and come out with a good 13" coil and a 9x5" coil I will be extremely pleased.

You just said it was good enough for your hunting.
I don’t know what else you want other than a custom made detector.
There is no perfect detector and perfect would 100 different detectors out of 100 people. They cant make 500 different models as everyone wants something different in their detector as they see fit
The legend seems to fit the bill really good for most imo

I'm having a glorious time just searching out the different modes, frequencies, ect of the Legend. It's a great detector especially for the money. The 6" coil is a killer and works plenty deep for my hunting. Can't find many lawns that homeowners would let me dig a 10~12" hole anyhow.

If you don’t have $1500 to spend then the Legend is probably your best bet . Built better than the Nox plenty of audio choices. So to have a 5.5” x 9” size coil !! I replaced an ORX because the lac of audio options. I can deal with the 3 lb weight of the Legend …. I did love the weight of the ORX . I just didn’t see XP offering an update to give the ORX better audio options. I am very content with the Legend. You won’t be disappointed with one .!! HH Tony

I just got 6” coil cant wait to try it
What differences have you noticed between the 11” and 6”
I am looking forward to a 6x9 my favorite coil size.
I know it’s actually supposed to be 5.5 x9 close enough

Thats an understatement. Not having $1600 for a xp is one thing but even If you don’t have $1000 to spend on a Nox the legend is a great choice.

Nokta has already introduced a larger 13" coil for The Legend, the LG35. I have one, it's a great coil all around.

First off, the balance and it's amazing how much easier it is to swing. Also, I get coins at 6" without much problem, i.e. good signal. Today I hunted and concentrated on the mid tones; 20~25 VDI. I dug the most Nickels I've ever dug on a hour hunt; got 9. I usually don't get one. Of course I dug the high tones as well, but I concentrated on the mid tones. I really like this machine. Now to sell my Nox 800.
