test garden

I have had coins buried in my test garden now for three weeks. Ranging from 6 to 12 ", and from IHP's, V nickels, Rosey dimes, Silver quarters, Lg cents, and Kennady half's. So far the deepest coin I can hit with the D2 is 10" half. and 8"'s for quarter. I hope the D2 does better on deep coins than that. My AT Max hit all the coins in all metal mode.

What mode did you use to test?

It will . Just have to learn it . What program are you using ? Are you using it without adjusting anything , like for example reactivity , etc. Most machines work fairly well out of the box with stock programs but once you figuer out how the difeerent adjustments work , that's when you start realizing the potential that perticular detector has . Keep at it and you'll fuguer it out. HH

It does take some time for test targets to settle in. They will never be true tests for raw depth. The value of my test garden is learning how the detector's adjustments effect the target response. This knowledge is invaluable to me in the field.

Also, the AT Max is crazy deep in Motion All Metal.
