Nox to legend

As long as you have the legend I wish you good luck with it. learn it and use it! As for me....I have the 600 and do well with it. No sense changing to a new machine when I do well with what I have. No offence intended but can we get back to discussing the Equinox?
Swing what you like I always say but I started this thread to discuss going to Legend from the Nok
Not putting down either just to talk and compare both

Have to get the coil over a target. Does not matter what machine you have All are quite capable of finding something. Some might be a little better than others . As others have said location is the most important thing. Just hunted with a buddy and he has Garrett at pro and I decided that day to hunt with my gold bug very similar I'd and depth. Very fun and either machine could pick up what the other one found .flagged every target and we tested both were similar. I have an eqx 800 but don't like the audio. Deeper yes but not a game changer . I only use it at the beach. Significantly better than a single freq machine in the Salt water environment. Land wise not so much. What ever is pleasant to your ears use it and you will have fun. That is the game.

I did just that; Nox 800 to Legend and there are differences. My Nox with the large coil pounded areas I'd hunted before and found excellent older coins. AND I went over the same areas with the Legend and found more old coins. They are both excellent machines, but I've settled into the Legend because with the 6" coil I am able to swing it longer because the balance seems better.

The legend has had something like 4 firmware updates and 33 changes along the way....All in maybe 6 months?
And its still struggling with foil and nails masking coins, based on recent youtube video in the past 2 weeks.
I was once considering a Legend, but to be honest, Im glad I waited.

Everyone and their uncle has a Nox. Very few of the "offline" people ever heard about the Legend… yet. Yes, it still struggles with dense foil. But at the same time it often sees stuff that Nox cannot. For example, last outing I've found a tiny gold bracelet with a bunch of diamonds… it gave a very faint "foil" signal (M2, Park). Nox operator who happened to be hunting the same tot lot was unable to tune his machine to make any sound at all on this target. So in a world full of Noxes, the Legend may give you an edge. Unless, of course, you're hunting in a field of freshly mowed foil wrappers.

I wonder how many changes ML made in the Nox up to this point without telling everyone? How many years has it been? Nokta put out a product right away just six months ago, and uses user feedback to make the improvements in real time amd is very transparent.
Before you judge i was always a ML person, as a matter of fact if i only did beach hunting everyday and that was all, i would use a Excalliber II any day over anything else. It is also $1800 now.
Gold prospecting same thing a ML at $4000.
But a multipurpose detector that is close enough on par, 29 out of 30 finds to a Nox 800 for only $600, are you kidding me.
You spend the extra $500 and take your Nox to the beach in the water and let me know in 6 months how your doing.
Amazing, some gripe that a metal detector picks up foil a piece of metal after being out for 6 months but neglects to mention how the other metal detector that has been out for years still leaks and floods when getting wet.
Personally i would rather save $500 and occasionally pick up foil and the gold along with it than spend over $1000 and have my metal detector flood when it gets wet.
But im not putting anyone down if thats your cup of tea. No metal detector is 100% perfect, and everyone has different preferences, again money aside I’ll dig foil as you have to to get gold jewelry, i prefer to go to the beach or just rinse off my metal detector and not worry about it flooding

So what are you considering that is on par,and flawless? Because i will sell mine if something already out for same money is far superior. At my age I can’t wait for new detectors to be invented and put to the test for years to get bugs worked out either. Just like every single car manufacturer has recalls and lemons , but i need a car now

And at my age my Equinox 600 works! I don't water hunt and I have found every signal an E-trac and a CTX have found. And if my 600 breaks down I will buy another one. Not an Equinox copy...
Glad you enjoy it. Like i said to each his own. Your Equinox is not an Equinox copy? Just a little confused.
Who know someday i might pick one up but I don’t want to get the copy, would prefer the original without the leaks.

Well, I just set the Tone Break to 14 and buzz right along. Also, I have found that with version 1.09, I DON'T get as much iron false'n as I used to get in V 1.07. If I had unlimited funds and time, I'd still run the Legend WITH the 6" coil and the 9x5 when they release it.

Lol!! Enjoy your machines and don't forget to post what you find in the proper forum. We Minelab owners will be waiting!
