Dug two Crotal Bells on the 7th, gave both to the property owner. Kinda wanted to keep them for myself, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do at times. One of my fav relics to find. Pic of second one found.

I just have to assume there is some type of collectors book or group that deals in these. Different manufactures and metals so some probably worth more than others. Now I’m curious…….. neat find!

Probably extremely hard to track down all the manufacturers. I believe a lot were hand forged by local blacksmiths, I could be wrong about that statement. Agree that more obtainable information on them would be helpful. Many early ones were made out of the same material as Tombac buttons, and the brass after that to my understanding.
