2022 Silver Total

I understand my detecting season isn't over just yet, however I most likely won't be getting out too much more. This year I found quite a few 1800 and 1900's IH cents (which aren't shown) and I also found quite a few wheaties. (well over 200 of them) My nicest looking coin award goes to the 1916 Barber Dime. I also found my first ever 6 pence (1897) and my oldest seated dime dated 1847. I mainly hunt parks and the woods that surround them. I feel very fortunate to have found what I did knowing they have been hunted by others. It truly pays to go off the beaten path and hunt the woods around the parks. I have found some of my best finds of my detecting career in doing this. It's not pleasant with the heat and bugs, but when old coins pop out, it makes it all worth it. a little over 30 silvers (out of my 82 silver total) were found at an old playground area at a park. The silver consisted of barber, rosie and mercury dimes. I also found a ton of wheaties and IH cents at this playground area as well. One thing I also enjoyed finding were the old glass marbles found in the plugs when I was retrieving my coins. Thank you for looking and wish you all great luck!

Awesome

You do very well!!! I am starting to think the big lawn we hunt is now 95% empty as each time we go we are getting lesser and lesser finds. There is the occasional surprise but now convinced its an angles game. Will I keep going up there? I will and I’ll keep adjusting settings and having a relaxing time. Yesterday I didnt find a single coin (zincs dont count) but did find an iron strap piece! Believe it was blacksmithed and most likely 1865-1885. Odd but expect the unexpected they say!!!

Congrats on your pile of silver and other finds. There's a lot to be said for getting off the beaten path. The quiet, relaxation, and reward of a keeper that otherwise probably would never be found make those kind of hunts the best.
