Identification assistance: What is this rock/ore?

It has an overall shimmer, almost like a metal, but also resembles granite in a way. It's non-magnetic and weighs about 2 1/4 lbs. Somewhat brittle but hard to cut into.

What part of the world was this found, that will help.

Will it set off your detector or pinpointer ?
Looks somewhat metallic in places.
Unfortunately, don't have a detector/handheld pinpointer to know for sure. I was rock hunting/ rock hounding when I found it. But if it's metal, I'm guessing only a fraction of it contains metal or a light metal. I only got around a 2.7 g/cc density rating for it despite being slightly over 2 lbs.

Here's a couple more photos of it with some different lighting and angles.
Northern Georgia is gold country.
Though no visible gold.
Could be silver in there.
Without visible gold it's not a specimen piece.
I'd crush it. A two inch diameter pipe maybe 8 inches long with an end cap on it should survive a few rocks.
Using a 1 inch diameter solid steel rod say 14 inch's long to crush with. Then pan it. The end cap will usually break after 50 or so rocks.
Normally a good crusher is 3" in dia by a foot long. Made of 1/8"-1/4" cold rolled tubing. With a 1" thick base welded on. And an 1 1/2 " dia 18" solid bar of steel to pound with. Last many years.
Good Luck. Hopefully there's gold in there.
