how do i change target frequency,mine sounds like a screaming baby

im having trouble with my target frequencies,i have my legend set in 6 tones but when i go over a target (if its 10/20/30/40) the pitch is very high like a sceaming baby.ive being in the advance settings and each section has a different tone but they are all high pitched althou it sounds a bit better if i turn the volume down but the i cant hear the smaller targets.ive compared it to the equinox and its a bit like listening to a cheapo radio compaired to a top range sterio,ive put a video on youtube showing the problem im having.


is it just my machine or are all nokta legends like this ?.any advise how to lower the tones would be greatly appreciated
 
Try 4 tone. Only other thing I can think of is if your AG (audio gain) is set too high. I prefer 6 tone myself and only time it screams is surface or near surface targets.
 
thanks for the sugestion ronstar,the audio gain was set at 4 so ive now knocked it down to 2 and ill post the results the next time i go out.

if you are talking about the pitch of the tone you can change the pitch of the tones in the settings on the Legend

click on the power button once while the legend is booted up, it will open up the first sub menu, now with the right arrow move over to the second speaker looking thing with a musical note in it or by it, click the up arrow once it will now take you into a second set of sub menu's, the second set of sub menu's is where you can change the pitch of your tone breaks the tone volume is 1-10 the tone pitch is 1-30 they are two different settings the setting you need to change the pitch of the tone will look like a musical note with three lines running up and down when on it click the up arrow once it will take you into the pitch set up go through each one by clicking the up arrow one at a time 1-30 and listen to each pitch select the pitch you want by clicking the pin point reject button


from what I could tell by your video a couple of your targets fell into your last tone break which you have set the pitch really high, your last tone break is most likely at 28 so yes it is going to scream like a baby LOL
you can lower the pitches as I stated above the pitches, tone break volumes are not set in stone, all those are very very adjustable that is what I love about the Legend is its adjust ability of everything I run in 4 tones most of the time and my Legend screams like a baby also at the higher pitch settings in my last tone break which is 48-60 I want those screaming like a baby LOL

if you are seriously thinking about purchasing a legend in the spring start reading the manual now it helps a lot and every question that is posted the answer is in the manual, every time Nokta /Macro puts out a new update they also put up a newly updated manual on their site that can be downloaded and printed out,

I am probably annoying people I hope not but I just try to help, I do not know why but for me the Legend is a very simple detector to set up and change things and no I do not know everything but I have taken the time to learn everything I can about the Legend if I cannot find the answer or get an answer I go to the source and send a PM to Delik she is a very very personable Lady that has never failed to get an answer for me

Easy there. You just aroused a ML person who doesn’t even own a Legend, just trolling.
Listen to oldcoot. The great thing about the legend is it’s customizable so that it will resolve your issue.

the updated manual tells you haw to adjust all the settings of everything in the legend as well as the original settings and new settings for the added features it is bassically a new manual if you want what the update has added there is a list as to what each update did

Well i wont name him just yet but all you have to do is look every time someone says they have any issue with the legend or Nokta Makro for that matter they are always on to react never helping ,because he doesn’t have one but defends, rants and raves about ML, especially the Equinox and Manticore.
I have inquired about those as i have had ML machines and like some of them unfortunately has to make it controversial. NM bad, ML good.
I guess I noticed it more having been thrown in the controversy. But if you really look you will see it. Very persistent about jumping in the legend forums with negativity

guess I am lost everyone that has replied to this post has not said anything negative unless it is someone that i have put on my ignore list and I cant see what they post, they can say anything they want but those of us that detect with the Legend knows what it can and does do.

this is how I look at it someone can talk all the crap they want about something but does it make it so, just put them on your ignore list then you do not have to read what they have said because it will not even appear when you read a thread

I have a couple of friends that use the Equinox 800 and they are both getting a Legend, I have let them use one of mine actually my wifes that gets vary little use and it impressed them, to the point they are picking up a legend so that is saying a lot in my opinion

thanks for that oldkoot,
i think it was the pitch that was way too high,i had set the pitch the same as i have on my equinox 800s (big mistake as these need to be way lower).ive now reajusted it with a min of 3 in zone 1 and max of 18 in zone 6 and it sounds so much better.hopefully ive now got the hang of the machine and things will run smoothly,the beaches where i live a dead at the moment but next year ill probibly make a video compairing the nox 800 to the legend,thanks again

I don't even use the audio gain on the Legend because the area I detect no detector is going to see anything much over 5 inches LOL
