Coins we have pulled in the past from cellar hole areas

These are the reasons I’m motivated to scramble all over tough terrain at age 66. Just glad to be at this still since 1986. The best places, hard to find, lack modern day non-ferrous trash. My stepson found the shaved Pine Tree Schilling. It was reduced from about 79-80 grains down to 49.5 by shaving slivers from those who passed it long ago. The last pic is a sideways shot to show how thin these were. Made on a crude rocker press outside Boston it looks a bit wavy. It was a large planchet variety. I sent it to NGC. The 1732 2R pistereen & 1730 Mexico City cob are my finds where the tree coin was found. The cob has a one year only assayer “G” visible. Casey’s Fugio is in the top pic. He got that about 2 weeks ago under log behind a well. I missed it! We’ve pulled much more than space here allows the last couple of years. I’m supposed to give presentation about finds from these sites and farm
Fields in February if they don’t move the date. It will be at the SRARC club meeting in Clearwater FL. I belong to that club and YTC in CT. I’m very passionate learning about life before the constitution and the early federal years. I added some dandy buttons below. I have many more images of dug , silver shoe buckles, silver pocket watch, candle snuffers, many odds and ends. There are many detectorists here competing, some “only dig colonial or go home”. It’s an addiction. I hunt everything, water too when I can.

Very interesting saves.
Thanks for posting.

Awesome finds. All bucket listers for anyone that has ever picked up a metal detector. Congrats and I also hope I’m able to be out at a cellar hole in the middle of no where when I’m 66. You are blessed to be able to continue to do that 👍

Truly terrific finds/saves. At 66, you are just a whipper snapper. Keep at it and thanks for the posts. HH Jim Tn
Jim, nice to hear from you. My main detecting partner is my stepson. He is 40, 2 tours in Afghanistan and now a corrections officer since 2007, he’s a real bull in the woods. We are tight. He also turned me on to military extended cold/wet and muddy weather over clothes that resist everything including briars. Thankfully we don’t needs those often. I am grateful to be able to get out, we all have our personal challenges. I haven’t posted up much the last few years and it sure great to see your here. The EQX & F-75 get it done without a weight penalty. I still have others but they are weighty, and some water only units I still use for chasing bling.

Lifetime dreams finding treasure's like those.
Just excellent. Thank You for posting.

I work in the deep woods and brush quite often.
Especially during winter.
I would truly appreciate a link to those clothes.

I was thinking I hadn't seen a post by you for a while and my main detectors are the same as yours, as well. Keep at it and good luck. Nice to have a "bull" as a hunting buddy. HH Jim Tn

I’ll do my best to help you find that gear. They are goretex over clothes and are designed so you have access to everything underneath. There are a few pricey sellers on the web but I got my best deals off eBay with some searching, knowing my size etc after trying my stepson’s extra suit out in the worst muddy, wet and cold but I got a MX

1 real that day by the old Farmington canal. I did get new ones - not used. It was further back than my purchase history shows. Here’s the labels and pics. I’ll see what I can find for reasonable prices. Meanwhile Include “US military ECWS” in your search terms. Some sellers if your lucky have several sizes stock for both halves, otherwise it is a piecemeal search.

Online retail seller. Pricey but but an uncompromising protection layer over my clothes.

Absolutely spectacular recoveries!!!! Now, if you could just find a surplus Cadillac ElDorado capable of all terrain transportation to and from…….you be stylin!!!!’ 😂

Thank You YTcoinshooter
Looks like standard military gear.
I'll look around for it.

Very nice finds!

Thank you so much for sharing these incredible finds. A lot of us out west won't ever see dates like those. Great that you're staying after it and keeping yourself young!
