Another drastic price reduction for the Nokta Legend.

Maybe not enough legends been sold , why drop the price if some thing is selling well. Good detector the legend BUT the market is flooded now
with metal detectors. Plenty of buyers though because as soon as one person quits the hobby because of all the junk another hunter joins the hobby.
The new Minelab at £1800 is unlikely to go any deeper than the cheap legend. VLF is just a surface picker down to a few inches. These things
won't go any deeper no matter how much you pay. I heard from a small dealer he has dozens of pre orders for the new minelab , so much for
there been a recession. Detectorists will pay $1000 to $2000 per centimeter for extra depth.
Well the Garrett Axiom will be available soon at nearly 4000 dollars, which is a bargain vs Minelabs Pi offerings, and it can get some more depth being a pi. But depth isnt all there is to it, not by a long shot. I would say the sales of the legend are not where NM needs them to be, and they widened the gap between a Legend and even the Equinox 600. I think it is to increase sales, especially before the Manticore and to a lesser extent, the Axiom, are available. People only have so much money, if NM can entice them to buy their machine which is available now, vs waiting on yet to be released machines, then they want to do so. Also to sell as many as they can before those machines release is possibly a factor.

I have to disagree you say quote "But depth isnt all there is to it, not by a long shot". Actually depth is everything , More depth will equate to many more finds
coming out from deep underground. Treasures of high value. Coins made of gold and silver. Coins are in the plenty at 12 -18 inches
down , no one knows this because no one can penetrate down to 18 inches. It's Secret that you guys must know.
My CTX only finds coins down to 5 or 6 inches usually , so i know i am walking over a ton of coins that the detector can't see.
I have used high power pulse induction to hunt deep coins but i am tired out because i dig nails down to 18 inches with
the pulse.

I would wager there are tons more good finds hidden in iron and trash at depths we can already reach vs deeper than detectors currently available can detect. Soils only let things sink so deep, I find civil war bullets at 8" or less frequently, and those have been in the ground for 160 years.

I just purchased the legend to go with my simplex. Will be here Wed. For the price I may buy another. Then divorce🤣

Go for it hammer---get another Legend.----Tell the little lady it's for her---worked for me!! :)------They love us when we do that!!!!
Yeah its on sale😷you normally would have to pay $1600 to get the same features 🤣

The fact is it don't matter how much better a detector unmasks better than others , i know i will be unmasking the same old junkers as before.
I am sure having a decent site with Ancient Gold and Silver buried underground will beat any detector no matter how much it costs. I also think
detector sales will fall off sharply over the next year as inflation hits hard.

Soils only let things sink so deep,

You obviously haven’t hunted parts of Florida lol. Vegetation is even hard to grow in these parts. Sugar sand is the soil. Wont even hold the nutrients needed for alot of plants very long.
Once you cut through the grass roots you can dig a 2ft hole with your hands.
If you picture a soft sandy beach its no different parts inland. You can even use a sand scoop at the park once you get through the grass.
For this reason old coins are just not there or about the odds of finding a pre 1900’s coin on the beach.

I know a pro detector user here in the UK hit a patch of pasture using a GPX 5000 Minelab and started pulling out roman broaches from 18 inches. The VLF'S would not even give any response
at all to the 18 inch deep treasures. The Deeper a metal detector goes the more chance of treasure. Digging iron at 18 inches though is not much fun. So getting IRON ID at depth is something
of a holy grail for metal detectors. I had a bliss tool and was digging 18 inch deep iron trash.

The price keeps falling...
Wonder whats going on over there in Turkey for the reduction in prices ???
Sounds like the Turkish lira was devalued. (check its history) Maybe there is a recession in Turkey, or in Europe. With ML made in Malaysia because its one of the cheapest labor markets, ask why they are so much higher. At the same time shipping for ML might be much higher: a trip through the Suez adds a hell of a surcharge (I'd hate to take a john-boat through it.)
Scarcity adds to the price too: go look at the official prices for Ferrari and Lamborghini, then visit a dealer........

There are many factors affecting a price and because something costs less does not mean quality or performance is less: conversely higher price does not equate to better.
What does "VLF is just a surface picker" mean?

And the new fancy expensive detectors are supposed to be great on picking up bitcoins 🤣
