Anyone else practice archery?

My old pse shoots 220 fps it works but my shoulder is not very good . Only 55 pound draw but pretty accurate. Shot placement is everything. It is only 50 percent let off and I can't hold for very long . Plenty to take a deer but since they allow crossbows it makes it easier. Thin the heard best for them. CWD is a bad thing

I've shot bows since I was able to draw my Mother's 26# longbow. I can't even remember all the bows that I've had over the years, but I still have one or two Oneida Eagles, including my first one (an original H250) that I bought in '84. I still have a Jennings, too.

Several years ago, my state legalized crossbows for hunting, and I got pretty deep into them as well. At one point I had seven of them, but now I think I've only got four.

This is a video of the last new vertical bow I bought. I've since sold it for 2½ times what I paid for it, but it was fun, and I killed a lot of deer with it.

Back in 1960 when I was 10, our parents got us an archery starter kit. It was a straight fiberglass bow with arrows. I took to it.
I went hunting for game and snuck up on a cotton tail rabbit. Took my best shot and he was just a rabbit from then on. No more tail.😅
On my 13th birthday my dad took me to a professionial archery store and has me sized up for a 30 lb recurve and lessons.
Back then there were no sights for aiming. It was all instinct. Three finger release with a glove and arm protector
Yesterday was my birthday. Let's see, that was 59 years ago.
That summer in '63 i purchased a fishing arrow set up with a string and spool and went to the lake. Saw a blue gill swimming in the shallows. Bullseye on the first shot. Later my cousin and I would take the row boat and line up to let the wind push us into the lilly pad area where the gar pike hang out. I would stand up on the middle seat legs spread for balance. It was like shooting at hammer handles. I would get 3 or 4 a day.
As time moved on i out grew that bow but not the memories..
Over the years I had 3 compound bows. A Ben Pearson, an Oneida and now a Diamond Bow Tech I fitted with a hollographic site.
I have a crossbow too.
I have not participlated though since my back surgey in 2017. 🤔. Got me wonderin if i still can? 🎯
All you can do is give it a try.
Your body will just say yes or no.
Up to you to listen. 😊

The first time I saw an oneida, I fell in love with it. Everything that is weird or complicated, I like it!! 😉

When I first saw it, all I could think was, "This is a killing machine!" I had to have it!! What a feat of engineering genius!

The Italian who had them did not want to sell them to me. I told him to double lock the doors or one day I'd steal them. LOL

No wheels for me , did that in the early 80's and it never took , too much like shooting beer bottle caps with a .22. Groves , Pro Medalists , Damon Howatts , Predators , Treadways , and a dozen others keep the rotation interesting. Those $1000 and up customs are above my paygrade but wonderful to look at.
