1956 Gold Class Ring! and Other Silver rings / Silver coins and merchant tokens

Thanks Jim. Appreciate it. Yep, I am afraid winter is here to stay.
My Dad got a kick out of that 1921 Model T ford made by matchbox as he has a 1925 Model T ford.
Dave

Another outstanding weekends of hunting. All nice rings, but that class ring is a beaut! Excellent job on finding everything. Love those old cars. They would look nice in my collection. LOL

Checking some web cams around Park Rapids and Lake Of The Woods, by the looks of things, winter has set in. HH Jim Tn

Thanks for the comments!
The gold class ring was a strange one as it read higher than normal.
Normally class rings will hit around 12-16 on eTrac which is a little higher than a nickel or in the war nickel range.
This one hit 12-22 ?? I air tested it after I dug it and it was still 12-22. I thought I was digging a shotgun head stamp or at best a button.
Maybe there is silver etching or something on the front which is pulling the signal up. It is stamped Jostens 10k.

Dave

Just curious to what the gold class ring rang in at. My gold finds with the Etrac have always been real close to nickel numbers. This is the first year I have not dug a gold ring. Your finds continue to be some of the best on the forum. I always look forward to your post's. I am sure it will be a long winter in the Dakota's.

Thanks Mike, Yes, I figured you would appreciate the merchant tokens. The brass one must have some good value as the town it came from is so tiny.
It read like a real faint Indian head penny @ 8 inches deep as it was partially masked.
Dave
The ring is spectacular! The spinner token and trade tokens as well.

thanks Ronstar! I know what you mean. That was a fun target to uncover. I never expected anything from the place I pulled it from but you never
know when lightning will strike in this great hobby.
Dave
Its 19 degrees here and I see that ring and I dont care what the temp is, that just warms ya up!!!!

What an outstanding season you had Dave! I was holding out with my reply and trying to get one more hunt in but the weather went from November right to January! Can't wait to see your silver count!! Ted
