Who is going to buy an Equinox anymore

I'm with Felix and Jimmy! My 600 found some silver this year too! And some Indians, wheats.Vs,Buffs, and other assorted coinage! :detecting:
I had my 600 less than a year used it almost always in the water. No leaks, 5 gold ring, 13 silver, 20 plus bling rings, numerous pieces of bling. Lots of clad plus INDIANS< Merc's Barbers. Yeah paid for itself. The kicker is the wife ran it over with the Jeep. Only thing wrong is the shaft is now oblong in the middle. No one I know has had a leaking Nox. I've had the 800 for over 3 years submerged completely for hours no leaks.
Just saying don't just count the Nox 600 or 800 out.

I believe you don’t have issues with it leaking the only problem is there are many on here that are even diehard ML fans that admit they had theirs leak sometimes numerous times.
Perhaps luck of the draw in which ones do and don’t.
But all you have to do is research in forums, youtube etc and its just a known issue.not just an isolated issue.
If you really think they don’t leak and its an isolated incident then try and do a post with a survey and i bet you fill find alot more than just one or two.
It appears if you have one and get it wet frequently you are more lucky than anything else if it doesn’t.
ML even admits some leak. And whatever the manufacturer says you can bet the number is alot higher. Do you really think they would admit the real numbers. If you do than you also probably believe everything the government says is the truth lol

Thanks… this school grounds was polluted with quarters!!🤣😂
I can help

Sometimes I wonder if people’s modifications new shafts cause them to leak

A guy that I know has an aftermarket shaft and the brass inserts that hold the two halves together on the handle came loose… Minelab told him the warranty was voided since he was using an aftermarket shaft.

NOPE. Absolutely, positively not.

On an Equinox, the "watertight seal" DOES NOT OCCUR at the handle-to-shaft interface. Take your handle apart and remove it from the shaft, and note that there is NO RUBBER GASKET OR O-RING between the two parts of the handle that fit together around the shaft. The watertight seal occurs farther up inside the handle -- at the door of the battery compartment (there are two rubber o-rings inside the battery door), AND, as I understand it, farther up inside also, where the handle and the control box meet/join. SO -- the handle-to-shaft interface is NOT a "watertight seal." Using an aftermarket carbon-fiber shaft DOES NOT, and CAN NOT, in any way, risk the "water-tightness" of your Equinox. Period. There is no "seal" that occurs at the handle/shaft attachment point, and so there's no way WHATSOEVER for your shaft -- WHATEVER shaft you are using, to be associated with leakage issues.

How does replacing a shaft impact the control box leaking just curious how you put the two together.unless you damaged the box while doing it. So then most that have a leaky Nox somehow damaged their control box as well?
