LEGEND V.1.10 UPDATE BETA TEST SOFTWARE

Nokta Detectors

Active member
Hello valued members!

Updates Made:
1.
M3 multi frequency in PARK mode has been updated to prevent coins from being masked by aluminum foil.

2. Bottle Cap Rejection setting has been added.
When the device is in multi frequency,
select the Recovery Speed setting and press the pinpoint button. When you navigate with the right and left buttons, you will see the letters "bC" appear on the right side of the screen. You can adjust the bC value between 1-8 using the + and – buttons. When the bC is 0, it means that it is off.

3. Ground Suppressor setting has been added.
It is used to eliminate false ground signals in tough terrains. To access the setting, select the Recovery Speed setting and press the pinpoint button. When you navigate with the right and left buttons, you will see the letters "GS" appear on the right side of the screen. You can adjust the GS value between 1-8 using the + and – buttons. When the GS is 0, it means that it is off. It is recommended that you leave this setting at off position unless needed.

4. The audio emitted as the Tone Break points are changed while in 60-Tone, has been modified with increased bass.

5. Audio Gain setting has been activated in the Gold Field Mode.

6. Warning tones have been added to the buttons.

The buttons will now emit a warning tone in the following cases:
a) To indicate the minimum and maximum levels of settings.
b) When an inactive setting in a specific mode trying to be activated.

7. The brightness of the Backlight Level 1 has been reduced.

8. Bluetooth Chip Version will now be displayed.

When the Bluetooth headphones are paired with the device and the Bluetooth setting is selected, press and hold the Discrimination button. The Bluetooth chip version will be displayed in the clock section. When the button is released, the clock will be displayed again.

9. While in Automatic Ground Balance, the auto backlight will now be lit until the ground balancing is completed.

10. The loudness of the Volume Level 1 has been reduced in PARK, FIELD and BEACH modes.

11. A new level 9 has been added to the Iron Filter (IF) setting.

There has been no change to the levels 1-8. Level 9 will become handy when trying to discriminate some unwanted mid-conductors such as shotgun cartridges as iron.

12. General improvements have been implemented.

ONCE YOU TEST THE LEGEND 1.10 BETA VERSION, IF YOU COME ACROSS ANY BUGS OR FAULTS, PLEASE REPORT THEM BY SENDING AN EMAIL TO LGV10@noktadetectors.com BY JANUARY 23, 2023.
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL ONLY EVALUATE BUG OR FAULT REPORTS AND NO "WISH LISTS" AT THIS POINT SO WE CAN RELEASE THE FINAL VERSION SOONER THAN LATER.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING.

Looks good.

Amen to that……

I watched Dilek's Facebook announcement and now read it here. Have to admit no other detector manufacturer stays on top of informing the consumers, or doing all they can to improve an already impressive detector at an unbelievable price. I have had quite a year with finishing my house then selling my house and moving 'home' to Utah, then some down-time with a diabetic coma and stroke, then into the heart failure unit with a heart attack, all the while being contacted by four dealers trying to twist my arm to buy a Legend, Equinox, Deus II then Manticore or one or to others.

I have enjoyed my Nokta CoRe and Relic, Makro Racer and Racer II and Simplex + the most. Have trusted their build quality and performance as well, as other models, but have settled to mainly using my FORS Relic and original Racer for the ghost towns I hunt, and now transitioning back to 85% of my hunting for Coin and Jewelry sites and like what the Legend now offers. A Legend with a 6" DD and the new 6X9½ and 9X12 DD coils is all that I really need to complete outfitting my detectors. I have talked with a lot of people who bought a Legend, not the early so-called 'testers', and everything I have heard has been very favorable. I was told I would be one of the early testers but never received a Legend. Bummer, but have held true to following the progression, and it sure has been favorably impressive. Consumers need to be thankful there in a Nokta Detectors, and especially for them having Dilek.

I took the Legend out today after update for couple of hrs, bottle cap rejection worked great there was only a couple bottle caps that I dug and they were mashed flat like a coin and were newer.. but I waved it over probably 50 of them laying around camp sites and never made a peep on them...no glitches as of yet that I can see found 18 dimes, 5 quarters, 3 nickels, 19 pennies and a wheat penny.. all in a small area that Ive hunted 3 times with Simplex, Anfibio, Equinox,Omega 8500/8000 and Teknetics G2+..
This thing finds dimes/nickels on edge a lot better then any detector Ive used so far and I believe it separates better then my Equinox did.
Forgot had BC rejection on 8 also, on 5 it would sound off on some.

Dbowling, sounds great! I haven't used a detector that has a good BCR other than my XLT. It would be nice if they could match that audio performance, but if this new function works that well, a lot of consumers will be happy.

Did you by chance try the GS settings on your ground, I am trying to figure out what exactly the GS does, I did run the Legend with the GS activated started at 2 and increased it to 4 the ground I detect is on the extreme side of mineralization with a lot of magnetite in the ground and with the 1.09 version legend I have to drop my sensitivity down to around 15-19 because the 1.09 version gets really chatty, the 1.10 which I just installed on one of my legends yesterday at a setting of 4 on the GS i was able to run my sensitivity up to 24 or 25 at 25 it was still a little chatty but not near what it was on the 1.09 version, at a setting of 4 on the GS it knocked out probably 98% of the Chattiness, but my problem is this at a setting of 4 on the GS will I be missing good targets since it is quieting the legend down that much

in the instructions for all the new features they do caution using the GS setting, I wish Nokta would give a little more info as to what the new settings like the GS does and why use with caution

No I did not the update said for most situations to leave it turned off so I never messed with it.. I ran my sensitivity at 30 the whole time I was hunting and was dead quiet, not much emi where I was and my ground is not hot at all pretty neutral.

The Ground Suppressor is an extra filter. It should only suppress relatively weak responses. A coin or other desirable target would have to be mighty deep/weak to be missed even at 8, I would think. The Stability setting in Beach Mode is very similar in function but targets noise higher up on the scale. They both are available IF needed for special case ground conditions not day to day average sites. Think of it as Ground Disc. It may be helpful in high mineral/rusty ground that is wet & conductive. I certainly intend to test it to find some balance. Running higher sensitivity can easily be counter-productive in hot ground.

Updated mine today first try, took maybe 10 minutes if that. I’ll take out for a spin tomorrow if it’s not raining again. Anyone in the Boise ID, Valley area need help upgrading let me know.
