Vista X Disc

I have noticed that on deep targets in high mineral ground, the detector struggles to give a Low tone on a target that is effectively disc'd out in lower mineral soil. Increasing the Disc amount helps some, but on the deepest targets even Max Disc will still give a high tone. This is with the detector Ground Balanced to the hot ground & running stable. The target response is good but it will only give a high tone in Disc mode. Any suggestions why this is? Maybe @RG-DeepTech will respond.

The ground minerals play havoc on all of the detectors I've used. The round pull tabs are disc'd out but when they are 6" deep or deeper they sound great. I've learned to just dig them out and move on. At least I know I'm not going to miss a deep coin.

Yes, I’m glad deep good targets don’t low tone like on some other detectors. I just want to understand the why.

Hunting in Super Hot Soils with Hot Rocks , Coke here local in V.A./ M.D.. with my "X" I found Setting Vista-X GB Slight Positive is better in Bad Soil, and also try adjusting GB in All/Metal Mode Vs Two Tone. GB All Metal takes little practice but help ran "X" little more Stable in Bad Soil but it more accurate. I also found slight lower gain in bad and running higher Threshold settings are better . The Smaller Octagon Coil work good hot soils , as any Smaller Coil will on avg work better Hot soil vs Large Coil since seeing less ground affect vs large coils . The Smaller Octagon Coil on "X" is great coil hunting bad soil ans super Irony sites and wort the investment. Overall, I found if "X" Settings are set To "Hot "in Bad Soil will over power signal response and make what's called "Disc Phase Shift" give false Disc. Tones Lastly If Hunt' Bad Soils" more then "Nice Soil" you may look at New Gold Hound, I used last few months and work well Bad Soil and High Setting and Super Stable Hit super Deep on Small targets in Bad Soil with it Higher 30Feq vs X 16Feq. In super Modern Trashy Sites 'X" { Not Iron} over better "X" better . The Gold Hound Super Sen and Even Smallest modern trash foils, pull tab smallest modern bullets will sound large than size and deep!! . Since I only Relic Hunt /. Old House Sites slowly learn all Hound Tones. Width Singal response on New Hound Just Like "X" hope find this info useful
