Found this last week land was once owned by Civil War veteran. Old homeplace was there up until late 50s according to historic aerial site. Nothing there now but the remnants which I am just starting to detect. No markings but looks well made. May or may not be civil war era. Found in large mound of dirt that looks to have been pushed up by loggers in the past. Lots old square nails to.

That is a nice find. Usually buckles with that type of hook are post war. There were some during civil war similar though. There is one on the page though is is a reproduction in the link.
