As many of you know,my wife has retired. We are going to learn her how to run the Equinox 600. I think it will be fun to take a picnic lunch and go metal detecting when we can! Since she is going to inherit my 600 I needed a new machine. She won't let me use a social security check for a new Manticore!:cry2: That being said,I am getting a new Minelab Equinox 900 from Richard at Backwoods Detectors! Rich is a very pleasant fella to talk to and quite knowledgeable! Now if all of this white stuff would melt!! I think the wife and I will have a banner year!! HH! Ted

God decision Ted… another advantage is that both detectors use the same coils.
If you have issues or want extra coils, you can interchange them between the two detectors.
That feature has me leaning more towards the 900 if I decide to upgrade at some point.

Women are naturally better at metal detecting than men, they have more patience and don't hurry to get to the next place.
Sounds like you folks should have a blast.
And better hearing 😂

That’s awesome you have a lovely wife that wants to share your passion of metal detecting! Good luck to you both!

Great to hear Ted good luck yes Rich is great I will now buy only from him great guy. One thing also nice with the 900 is you get the 6" coil also with it my preferred water coil.

Thanks Mark! It should be here tomorrow! I printed the owners manual and will look it over. I'm sure to have questions for the experts here! I think that it is more machine than I need but I never saw a test between the 700 and 900. Richard is really good to deal with!

Congrats on the 900 Ted. Coming from the 600 the learning curve should be short. I upgraded to the 900 in mid -December and I am quite pleased with it. Good luck. Mark

And.....It's here! Gotta let the box and contents warm up a bit. It's only about 3* here!
-3 here with windchill 🥶🥶
Stay warm Ted!!

Me and my cousin just ordered (2) 900's with an extra coiltek 10x5 from Richard yesterday and he is a fine man to work with.
