Gold- Equinox 800 on wet sand or underwater

This post is about using the Equinox 800 on wet sand or underwater in the ocean to find gold.

I found that the Gold1 and Gold2 settings work well on dry sand to find gold.

On wet sand however, the Gold settings do not work due to too much background noise. I think park or beach settings are my next option.

I’m testing a thin to medium 14k gold chain and a 14k ring. Most detectors can get the ring, but the chain is a different challenge.

I’m also planning on using the 800 in the surf following some waterproofing, even though I’m told its submersible.

Comments welcome!

The thin gold chain is tough under any conditions. Try setting that will work on normal soil to base its abilities. Probably a discrimination issue as much as anything, hint it might hit in the negative numbers.
