I'll be buying a new detector soon. I'm curious about Teknetics patriot, Teknetics liberator, Fisher F44, and a Bulgarian Wave GL4. Has anyone compared any of these detectors?
 
I don't know the Bulgarian detector, but the 2 Teknetics and the Fisher are good detectors.

The Teknetics Patriot is just a Fisher F70 with a new label. Still a very powerfull detector and it would be my choice out of the detectors you listed.

Best of luck to you in your decision. Watch some Utube videos on the units you have listed, or ones you are Most interested in, and this may help you with your decision. Let us know what you decide on. Also consider what type of hunting you will mostly be doing, and if a water proof detector would be an important factor.

Sounds cool. If your finds are posted on here, I'll take a look later tonight. I like the looks of the Wave GL4 but I don't know anything about their company or their quality. Teknetics does have a good reputation.

I know nothing about the Bulgarian unit. Never had a liberator. Did own a Patriot. But of those you listed, I owned 3 of the F-44's and enjoyed them all. One had the 11" BiAxial (just means Double-D) coil which isn't my favorite and it was soon sold. One I kept the 5" DD coil on for working some rather littered renovation sites. My main-use F-44 kept their round 7" Concentric coil mounted, and it jut happens to be a combination I am considering re-acquiring.

But to help folks out when it come to helping you, let us know what detector you use now or have used in the past? Also, how long you have been detecting and the type of hunting you mainly do, such as urban Coin & Jewelry Hunting?

I previously used a Tesoro Bandito. It was made in the early 90's. I haven't done any metal detecting for about 10 years. My next outing will be a very old area in Arizona which had a park and plenty of desert area. I would like to find, old relics, jewelry , coins, and what ever surprises me.

Do you like the automatic ground balancing or do you prefer to do a manual ground balance?
