Doubts over Manticore 50% extra power.

What would happen if the engineers increased the transmit power by 50% . That would push deeper down surely. Lets say out put transmit power was increased to 2 watts. It would go deeper by quite a bit.
Dave John an engineer that worked for many years and at different company's has already said ground noise would be unbearable. Maybe he is right maybe wrong, he did it for many years. An engineer from another company should speak.

A metal detector designer i once spoke to told me exactly the same , his words were , you can only get extra power into the ground where the ground will accept the extra power. Nothing new is likely to come with
VLF that will give any substantial increased depth.

Saying you are satisfied just means it meets your expectations, needs, or desires. ( I'm sure that people who bought the AMC Pacer or Gremlin said the same thing.) It says nothing about the capabilities of the detector, just you way you see it.
As a Equinox user for years both the 600 and 800. I have been able to pull 10" dimes and cents regularly. I feel I have maxed out the Nox and decided to go with the Manticore, it has not disappointed, I've found zincs at 11" lots of coins at all depths. I haven't found any really old coins yet because the parks I've been hitting have been hammered by others and myself with the Nox using 15" coils . We are in the middle of winter here and can only dig in unfrozen spots that also limit us. The Manticore is very precise on its target ID , and the tones are right on. It takes a while to switch over from the Equinox and there is some what of a learning curve to it. I'm satisficed with it means that in my own opinion it meats or exceeds my expectation, of course I was also one of the few that thought the Nox was one of the best detectors made. Mine never leaked has been abused in all climates submerged for hours on end.

Do you even own one yet?

The "more power into the ground" limits....

Many user believe, that more power to the coil leads to more ground penetration.
That is wrong. If the ground has high mineralisation the extra transmit power fires back like using high beam lights of your car on a foggy day.

Thats why you need to turn boost of the Whites XLT off in bad soil to penetrate the ground DEEPER.

I know one thing, the Manticore made my buddies Nokia have to get 25 ft away from me to prevent EMI. More Power somewhere :)

Jesus Christ! Zincs at 11 inches? Get on the space ship with Elon Musk and head for Mars The 11 & 12 inch coins I get with my CZ are very old!

While that may be true for white light it is not so for yellow or some other colors. I think on continuous wave detectors its more about quality band pass filtering, and well made loops that do not pick up ground noise, Also certain frequencies are affected less by iron mineral or wet salt too. From 5kHz to the silver frequency of 2.45kHz are not affected at all: but the disc of iron is not as good, they are low energy and do not respond well to low conductors and small items, and it takes a lot of battery power to fill the Q of the loop for them, so there is a down side too. And you will note on the XLT it was a 3 filter unit and I cannot even recall a boost on it has been so long, it but I do on the DFX & the V3i and with the V nulled 10" concentric I ran full boost in noisy environments that tore up my ML's. (MrBill warned me away from the 10"DD that was a bad design) I also ran a Deep Hunter on my Treasure Baron Coin Trax 2 with 8 more AA's for a 40% boost and it was a dedicated 2 filter by George Payne: if types like you believed that fairy tale no wonder I was hunting places you had left and finding a lot of nice goodies. (A Pulse operates at 10X to 20X the power too, with no loss in penetration and in fact much much deeper gains in depth.) You may try to make these homilies sound scientific, but somehow I think there is little if any real science involved when they are examined. (was the XLT a BFO?) 🤣

Who is Dave John??????

It was just so unique.
Some of the hotrods guys built of them were just different.

This is a list of radiated unintended power limits.
Is that correct ?
This list goes into the GHz.
I believe the device mentioned is the device accepted or regulated in that band ?

In other words. Metal detectors are not specifically regulated. Except for spurious unintentional radiated energy levels.
And in those frequencie bands it's 10 watts ???

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!! (a High Angel has visited us and taken down some of our "contentious words")
